"...targeting immigrants would be useless because they would return six weeks after deportation."

Put a few hundred at a time on a plane and dump them out over Cuba, with no parachute.

Give them a Social Security number and a green card and DEDUCT ALL OF THEIR TAXES from their pay. Once they have to pay their full share, they'll be paying the Coyote to get back home.

The sheriffs of Ashtabula and Lake counties said deputies don't stop people without cause. > This statement is a load of crap, if cops don't have a real or valid reason for stopping anyone, they will come up with one! You can bet on it!

So what? If you're illegal, that's more than enough reason to stop you.

Excessively loud mariachi music or a car horn that plays La Cucaracha is reason enough! So is a $1,500 aero kit on a $500 POS car. Moving shrines to Our Lady of Guadaloupe might get a pass if the cop is a Catholic.

A couple things I'd like to point out.

Firstly, most illegals in this country ARE paying taxes--via payroll. Sure, they are uses invalid/fake SS#'s, but the government not only collects taxes from them--it ends up keeping everything withheld because illegals are interested in filing/chasing a refund. With the right statistics, one could make the case that illegals in certain areas or industries pay more into the government than legals in the same areas.

My second point. Illegal Aliens are just that--illegal aliens. It does not matter how hard they work, how dedicated to their families they are, how hungry they are, or that they are often better workers than your average American at the same job.

Especially in an area like NE Ohio, where economic downturn has been a reality since long before the current crisis, job scarcity has played a HUGE role in public opinion's turn against illegals.

The facts are this:
They work for less, partly because they are accustomed to a simpler lifestyle, and partly because they have no choice. Government assistance is much harder to get when you are not a citizen, whereas a phony SS# will usually last at least a year's worth of work, depending on circumstances. Meanwhile, welfare and assistance programs mark the true minimum wage for legal citizens.

All this aside, illegal aliens are here ILLLEGALLY. They have no right to participate in our market, let alone work here. And when there are hardly any jobs left, and the ones that are--employ illegals, what would you expect the public outcry to be?

Sure the problem fuels racism, and sure, deportation is expensive and ugly. But until we get a handle on our borders, and REALLY start enforcing these things, the situation will only worsen.

Chung Lee say calling illegal aliens "undocumented workers" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist". Bottom line they breaking law period now matter how you spin. Police officer take oath to uphold law and if you not legal in USa you breaking law and must face consequences.

I'm actually perfectly comfortable with that comparison.

There might be a day that the items that a drug dealer sells could be found in a pharmacy. It only needs a change in law.

The illegals can also be legalized too. It only needs a change in law.

Whether there is political support for either is a different matter. Based on how people feel about immigrants right now, CVS is more likely to sell cocaine with a prescription.
Ahh huh

Get a grip. No one cares if they are legal or not. My wife is a Brasilian national. We have been fighting for nearly 3 years for her legal immigration. Yet still the good people of this county refer to her as "n(**&r" or "b^%$#r" This is not an issue of legality. But ignorance. We participate in the "welfare to work" program where I am employed. A republican brainstorm. What I see year after year is lazy, uneducated whites. Single mothers with 3 children at 21. Who have also paid 00$ into the system. I have seen 2 blacks, and one hispanic in 6 years. The other hundreds are white. Idiocy is louder than truth. And this county is rank with it.

They cross the boarder here.
They cross the boarder there.
Those illegals seek rights everywhere.
Are they an asset,
With all their claims?
No, they're sucking this country right down the drain.

Your wife is a "n(**&r".

At least the whites at your workplace are trying to get a job and improve themselves. The reason you don't see blacks? You figure it out.
