Big Step for Visitation Center

Mom and dad don't always get along and it's often the kids who pay the price. But by mid-summer, Austin will have a new center designed to change all that.

Maybe if the legal system wouldn't openly support divorce so much, the citizens of Austin wouldn't be wasting tax dollars on a facility like this. I love how city officials have so many solutions to offer, however they never work to fix the underlying problem. Who cares how rough the roads are, lets just build another building. Maybe they should just call it the Hormel Visitation Center and let them pay for it, oops, that would cut profit margins to much.

Let's think about the logic in Fine Art's post. First, the people served by a visitation center are parent's who pose a threat to their children's safety or to the safety of the child's other parent. Fine Art says that we would all be better off if these people stayed in the same house (didn't get divorced). I suppose they could kill each other off and that would be a cheaper solution, but "better" - I think not. Perhaps Fine Art would like to share the proposed "solution" to the underlying problem of domestic abuse and child abuse.

Obviously, forcing abusers to live with their victims is not the solution. Obviously, fixing a road (which road Fine Art has not stated) is not the solution. Obviously, taking a cheap shot at a local corporation is not the solution. Perhaps slow witted posting is the answer to all the world's problems.

I personal opinion now, tend to think there are a lot of other issues that haven't been given much priority. Austin side streets are horrible. Playing politics is whats forced so many small business owners to close shops. We most certainly get by without a visitation center so far, and if individuals are a threat to anyone, than they need help before being able to see their kids again. A local corporation keeps shipping illegal workers to work, but who really gains from that, the corporation. We have to pay extra taxes for thier share. Austin has so many underlying issues that need to be resolved before this occurs, yes roch has one, u don't here them bragging about its roi. Also tell me how an officer thats been convicted with 2 dui's is still an officer and especially one that works with kids now. I laugh when an officer has to pack her stuff up and move because of the current area she lives in could bring discredit to the law enforcement, however, have you seen what surrounds the current law enforcement center? This nonsense is just a slow ploy to spruce up the area to bring in Walmart, Kohls, and someone else. We need a leader, a real leader to lead this town.
