I'm shaking my head here. What was going through the mind of the driver? If the victim died because of the driver's stupidity, I hope they throw the book at that person. If the victim was driving, well....

Warning signs? How about a barrier or blockade of some kind? Why is this section of road even accessible at all? I smell a huge lawsuit...

My prayers are with Kelly Jo's family, especially her three young children. May they never forget their mother's love. Also in my prayers, the others in the vehicle who were with Kelly. The experience must have been frightening. Sympathies to you as well.

According to ch.5, the road was blocked off and this group of rocket scientists deemed it necessary to move the road block and continue driving. It's tragic someone had to lose their life, but for God's sake, use the brains you were born with!!

I just lost my dear brother, Kelly P. to this horrible accident and personally What is it going to take for the city to fix the hole in the road and no more deaths and accidents that could of been prevented from the first accident. Should put a permanent barricade to prevent this; from happening city should fix it how very angry this is too see people die and so young come on get some balls and fix the road!! I am going to write to the legislatures and want some action done here!! This is gone too far and Needs to stop! My condolences to the other families.

No rocket scientists in this group.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports state the wreck took place after Charles Kenneth Dennison, 20, who was driving the vehicle south on the road, reportedly drove around “Road Closed” barricades placed on the road after a previous car wreck on June 12 that killed Dale Wangen of rural Albert Lea at the same washed out spot.

Amy, my sincerest sympathy on losing your brother. You're doing a good thing by writing letters and being active in trying to get something done rather than complain of your powerlessness. Godspeed your efforts!

The fault is on the shoulders of the person/people responsible for each of their own actions that night. The barricades were not moved, they were drove around. The driver was seen drinking heavily shortly before the call for help went out. Accidents do happen, but most can be avoided. The fact of the matter is that drunk driving kills. The survivors are very lucky and hopefully learned an important lesson from this.My sympathy goes to those who lost loved ones.

I think your anger and blame are pointed in the wrong direction. Had they not driven around the road closed sign, he would still be here. Bad decision, horrible outcome. Not the city's fault.

I went to the site the day after the second accident. Don't see how they could possibly have driven around without tipping over or leaving rutted marks. I understand that somebody moved the barricades - which I didn't believe either --- until just recently, somebody moved them AGAIN! So now there are different barricades of pure concrete. Who kept moving them??? That person/people have a lot of guilt to bear.
