Y isn't the rest of the story published? How about the fact that the animals weren't malnourished, 75% of the dogs were in an air conditioned building. The outside dogs had shade cloths over the kennels, and the water bowls were barely lukewarm....at 4pm, go outside today at 4 pm and feel your dogs water......EXACTLY.

I'm glad someone is using their brains. These dogs didn't look like the scabby, mangy animals that come from truly abusive environments! They were healthy! Also, did you know that they had systems installed that would mist water over some of the dog cages to keep them cool??!! Here's an awesome link!

LONOKE COUNTY - More than 100 dogs were seized from a rural Lonoke County property where they were subjected to extreme heat without cold water or shade, according to investigators.

Investigators arrived on scene Thursday afternoon at a property off Sentell Loop in Lonoke County near Austin. That's where they found all the dogs in deplorable conditions and were forced to act immediately.

"There was no choice," said Kay Simpson with the Pulaski County Humane Society. "Our vet at that time determined there were numerous dogs in danger.[They] may not make it an hour, may not make it until morning."

The biggest contributing factor to their poor health was a lack of cold water and shade while the dogs sat in cages as temperatures reached nearly 110 degrees. In some cases, a few of the dogs were forced to live in their own feces, according to investigators.

The dogs are now in the care of Simpson's organization, where approximately 120 dogs, some pregnant, are being housed.

The Lonoke County Sheriff's Office is investigating the matter as a possible puppy mill. Initially, the PCHS intended to check on the property to provide suggestions on how to better care for the dogs. Accordingto Simpson, there have been several recent complaints about the condition ofthe dogs.

"There were enough [dogs] that were life threatening that they needed to be removed as soon we could get it together," said Simpson.

They'll get proper water and shelter, at least, until charges are filed against the property owner. No arrests were made at the scene.

Any charges related to this case are left up to local authorities and the prosecuting attorney.

The woman in question spoke briefly with Simpson and Lonoke County deputies at the scene.

"She ‘didn't know' was the only answer I got," said Simpson.

I'm tired of seeing people in a position of power abuse it. What can the average person in Arkansas do to assure that everyone's rights are protected. People should wake up and understand that things are out of control in this country and everyone better start waking up and taking our country back from those that are out of control and power hungry.

Bring the babies home!!!!!

Bring your babies back? Are you effing kidding me. So she ran around outside "loving" on her 137 dogs.... please. This is a puppymill! These dogs were treated with no respect. How many of the mommas are retired? How many litters did she make them have? The conditions the dogs were kept in are bad enough.... what do you wanna bet she's out buying more dogs right frickin now. This is not a dog loving home, this was a money making operation. I doubt she wants her "babies" back when they are all spayed and neutered. Thank God someone stepped in.

this story makes me beyond sick....as someone who makes a great living surrounded with dogs, because they are my passion, its trash like this that give groomers a bad name. if these where her babies, wheres her veteranian to back that she has healthy dogs? with 137 dogs this chic should be a frequent flyer at the vets office. if it passed all inspections, where's the inspector? to back this as being acceptable living conditions? who said they where starved? read up on the entire story no one said they where skinny, they said it was nasty, dogs where treated like chickens at tyson, not beloved family. the truth is this is greed. putting other puppy mill owners on a bloge doesnt change the facts...pictures cant lie...while your out making dogs miserable overbreeding and neglecting basic health care, you cant be upset when your called out. no rescue wants to take your dogs, who would wake up and decide they just wanted to take the responsibilty of 1st hauling your hoard of dogs. 2nd housing and feeding then 3rd treat all for fleas ticks and ear and eye infections 4th give 137 shots and test for heartworms 5th spay and neuter them 6th place them up for adoption for $65.00 each!!!!! be accountable for the choices youve made, and leave dogs alone, in my spare time i groom puppy mill dogs for rescue groups at no charge, ive done thousands, and will continue..
