Where is the leadership? The Mayor needs to step up to the plate and lead the Council and the City. The numbers are clear that both the Council and Mayor are overpaid, but they can't seem to swallow their proud and take the pay cut. A real leader would say let's make a decision and vote it.
It's apparent that they can approve more supervisor positions for the Police Dept, but can't seem to keep any backbone employees. If you missed the article in the Douglas County Sentinel this past week it just makes you shake your head as Government spending continues at a rapid pace. I am sure the Council and Mayor are hoping the more they table the pay options the sooner we will all forget.
If you look at the leadership of the City from the Council to the Police Department it's amazing at the turmoil in the past 5-7 years. Our former Mayor arrested, City Council overpaid, former Police Chief forced out by former Mayor, so future son-law can become Chief. City and Police Deparment sued by former employees, increase in law suites filed by Citizens, over 80 plus Police Officers either have resigned or been terminated. Mayor wrecks new car cost 10K to fix, Police Chief violates freedom of speech at town hall meeting then dumps it off on one of his Officers, racial profiling accusation on the Department. This is just a handful of the crazy stuff that happens in the City of Douglasville with 32K residents.
I just hope things turn around before its to late and Douglasville is know as the Dekalb County of the West. As Citizens lets stay informed, because if we aren't they will continue to run wild with our money.

It's sad that Douglasville has become this way. I talked to a former employee who said they loved working for the City, but the politics and drama was one of the reasons they left. All I can say is Boys and there egos guess no matter the age they still let power go to their head.

Now, Now, Now, our former mayor didn't know that his future son-in-law was going to be Chief of Police. Our city councilmen didn't know they were taking y'all's money and that you would be watching. Speaking of watching, the current mayor wasn't watching as he ran into that pole. Everything in the city is goin' fine. I say give 'em all a big raise so they can concentrate on more sidewalk ribbon cuttings because that's what we really need.
I think we should haul Mayor Mickey back in here and give him his meeting money back. He attended most of those meetings and he doesn't need the money anyway so it must not be all that important.

What I want to know is why we aren't spending more money to gussy up Freedom Island with more landscaping. I feel really sorry that the City lost the Hydrangea Festival to the county. That must have been a huge blow. Most people here just don't seem to care how sensitive our city leaders are. How would you feel if you were out of work and needed to run for office just so you could have some kind of job? And then find out that you were expected to stay within bounds with how much you pay yourself? It would be a shock to your system.

That has to hurt a lot. It's depressing and it's all your fault that you are a greedy taxpayer depriving the councilmen of some of their potential pay. We need a fertilizer plant kind of thing or a train wreck to take people's minds off these silly issues. Our problem is that people around here don't think deeply enough to get in tune with what our politicians need from us.

This is a magician trick. The inability to decide on pay, has nothing to do with pay. It has everything to do with look, over here, so we don't have to look over there, at we the people.

You guys left off the land the City Police Department was built on. The land was built on land right across the street from former Mayors wife's business to help drive up the value of her place. Our when the Chief wasted money to paint old patrol cars black and white instead of changing the color scheme on the new cars. The best one is with are the only Police Department with our Chiefs name on the car. I can't wait when his contracts not renewed and we have to waste more tax payer money to remove his name. That's what you call lack of consideration for the Citizens of Douglasville. I just love all this extra money we have to waste.

Anybody around here real recently from Chechnya? It's beginning to look like we need some excitement so we can get past this pay impasse. In the meantime, our public servants are being paid by the old rules and

hey, are there some extra meetings coming up for us to attend and how much can we get for those?

So Douglasville, you maintain part of the stream channel, but ignore the top and center, because you can't file paper properly in a box. You spend the time ignoring we the people, and your terms figuring out salary?

You have a man for 7 months telling you about a sinkhole, because the "city" put a pipe on his land, a decade after buying his home, and now you collect fees and do nothing. This is a forty year homeowner who you are ignoring, while collecting fees, or giving the utility company rights to collect fees.

Who needed the easement? This man or the city? What do you think is going to happen to we the people who are flooded when he damns the place where you decide to flow water improperly and illegally?

How much will that cost us?
Pick up the phone. Stop throwing our tax dollars down the drain! There is a constitution which protects you from stealing our land!
When you address people investing here and stop causing unnecessary angst, perhaps we can pay you more in salary.
And as an aside, how much WSA are you collecting in fees to use this pipe that you don't claim, because the city can't properly file paper? Ethics? Spirit? Heart? Law?

Wow Mayor persons seems to be everyone's favorite! NOT! Get a load of this! He just ask the council about putting lights on top of his new Tahoe(like the police), he wants a police radio put in his new Tahoe! He is even wearing a badge that says mayor(like the police) and wants to carry a gun! I would like to ask him what police academy he went to! No Mayor Persons you are not Barney Fife! You can't even control the people under you! You néed to worry about other things like clean up all the city not just what's around your throne!

Here is the essence of the problem-
When you create permitting problems, you end up with planning problems magnified. The biggest one is Funding! You have to allow all of us to move forward, and provide access to resources and supports to do that. It is atrocious that in America you have not, going on four years. You must do this for you, and we the people. You must do this to access quality growth.
I have done everything I know to do to resolve these issues. You as the leaders must decide that change is worth it, so that you can access funding, and put the heart and spirit back in the right place, along with the laws governing our country.

There are no perfect people, and least of all me, but the facts are facts, and you can't keep it in limbo, because it adds harm, to all of us, those who understand what is going on, and those who don't.

Anybody who has studied this, does understand. It is time to solve it.
Significant money has been brought back to Douglasville to solve. You will need more. There are multiple sources in my backyard.

How many other people also have multiple sources in their backyards too, that are wasted flowing down the drain? I would begin looking for all of them.
