This guy is nothing but a legal drug dealer...@ this Atlanta Pain Management Center. Unlike the ones who were caught here in Douglas County Ga. He is located in the Buckhead section of Atlanta in a big high rise office building. I would like to sue his pants off. He was warned twice of my parent abusing the medications he was giving and the amounts he was giving and now after several days in I C U and the hospital, my parent has come back thank goodness. The doctor here stated that Dr. Kabakibou doles out enough medicine there at his facility to KILL A HORSE !. I agree. Also there are doctors in Atlanta being sought out for giving Whitney Houston too many meds. Actually what I would like to do is hold this doctor down and make him take a bottle of what he is giving out.

Be careful what you write, or he will be the one suing you.

I don't care.....he can bring it on.....I'm sitting on ready ....waiting. These doctor's need to be held accountable once they know the circumstances....if you don't agree with that..then that is your personal option...you are entitled to you view and freedom to speak what you feel. Thank You

Further more.....He will not return any calls to me to discuss this situation and to me......that shows he has no balls !.....He is a drug dealing,coward....who has no compassion for his patients.....only money hungry....That's his main concern. Don't you people realize that doctor's like him....are hand in hand with these drug companies. Yes, my parent has a responsibility to take meds the right way.....but once addicted it is the responsibility of the doctor that created the problem to atleast discuss with family members....help alternatives. Ball-less COWARD !

Pain management clinics = legal drug dealer!!! It'a sad. Shut them all down. If patients have chronic pain they can drive to the doctor and get a pain shot. Addicts with their own names on the pill bottles are still addicts. Wake up society.

I am very aware of the abuse of drugs given to patients by pain centers, etc. However, if it weren't for these pain centers my father (in his 70's) would not walk at all. There will always be addicts searching and getting drugs from doctors, but there's the other group (me included) who had serious injuries and getting 'a shot' does not work. The person who mentioned getting 'a shot' needs to educated about slipped disks, herniated disks, etc., etc. It's frustrating for people suffering in pain as your family doctor doesn't give "shots" they send you to a pain center and then your subjected to numerous shots in the spine, etc.

As far as Kabackabou and money - I agree 100%. The doctor is wonderful and so is his nurse, however all the other staff bully you (I was witness to it) and would not take not for an answer when telling someone they had to pay twice what they were currently paying. That's were the crime is.

Ok then let the pain clinics prescribe meds one week at a time. The people that truly need them will make the extra trips but those that want to abuse them, the trip will not be beneficial to them. I have a herniated disk, I understand pain but our society is in trouble. I call pain management doctors, The Candy Man.

In my experience with Dr. K, I do not agree with the "drug dealer" scenario.

When I was under his care I was "Pee-tested" my words, on a consistent and random basis so I never knew when it was coming.

If I were to run out of meds I was on my own, no supplementation from the clinic and of course we are legally bound by our contracts not seek out meds elsewhere!
I found that Dr. K and his entire staff where compassionate, helpful, kind to the max and had great senses of humor. Never underestimate the power of humor to help in alleviating pain!

When I was referred to Dr. K by my surgeon at Resurgens Orthopedic, I was thinking, "Oh boy, another pain clinic who will under-treat my pain! Yippee!"

I had been to a few other "Pain" clinics over the span of 10 surgeries and 9 years, and I was under treated at all of them. Mainly I think, due to their fear of the DEA.

Dr. K was the one and only physician to treat my pain adequately. When other parts of my body became affected he DID try other modalities such as steroid injections, etc. So he is NOT a one trick pony.

I recently moved to the west coast and I just wish I could bring Dr. K and his team out here with me.

I am very sorry about your loved one, perhaps your family could get together and make sure that he/she would take only what is needed WHEN it is needed. A sort of mini-family-intervention. It is not always the MD's fault.

Good luck to you and your family.

Dr.k has been treating my chronic pain and he has been a blessing. I have had dozens of epidurals over the past 10 years by several different doctors and received little to no relief. Dr.K wanted to give me an epidural and I told him they had never helped but he convinced me into giving it one more try. As soon as he had finished the procedure for the first time in ten years my leg pain was GONE!! Dr.K uses a X-Ray machine to make sure he is getting the medicine to the right spot. I am truly sorry about your parents and wish them a speedy recovery however people that don't live with chronic pain could never imagine what it is like to hurt every second of every minuet twenty four hours a day. Pain is a part of my life but thanks to Dr.K I can manage it. Three years ago I was bedridden Now thanks to Dr.K I live a some what normal life.

I promise you that most people who go to these clinics and dr's are in dire need of help. Sit outside the offices and watch. Look at the folks in wheel chairs, beds being rolled in, canes and crutches. How they get there: Patients are referred by their own doctors and surgeons to these places, as your own doctor and surgeons do not give out pain meds. Maybe one or two times at most. Neither does the ER. That is why there are pain management places for patients to go too. Most people don't understand the procedure until they need help themselves.

AFTER failed back surgery,MS,and spinal cord fusion I saw Dr Kabakabou,,pain meds and epidurals did little or nothing to help rejieve pain. Dr K. Suggested spinal cord stimulator which is done by a Neurosurgeon. First I had to have a one week trial that Dr K couldnt do because his hosp wouldnt accept my ins. Dr K recommended a great Dr at another hosp. And Neurosurgeon. Thank God for what he had done for me. I know I would not be here if it werent for him and for Pain Management, sorry that anybody has had negative experience and I pray for those that abuse drugs because I know they are suffering in one way or the other

Speak for yourself. Some of us need medications to live without pain. Ive had back issues for 15 years and have tried all different sorts of treatments. While being on medication is not ideal, it is a better solution than being in pain 24/7 and not being able to get out of bed. Its too bad that some people abuse drugs, and for this the innocents who need the medications are being punished -- to the point that patients are treated as criminals and some of these drugs like Methadone will probably be outlawed in the next couple of years. But you have to take drugs responsibly and need to be monitored - if the pain doctor isnt doing it - do your own research and speak to your primary physician. I know for me, medication has been a life saver.

"Hold him down and make him take a bottle"
That is ridiculous,
Did the doctor hold your parent down and shove the pills down their throat?
People need to take responsibility for their own actions and quit blaming problems on everybody else.

I have read these comments and have realized how stupid some people can actually be. I have been going to Dr. K for four years and have nothing but good things to say about him. He does not over medicate his patients and I am subject to a pee test at any time and I get one quite often. I have had three disc's removed and have hardware in my back. The person that said people in pain need to go to the Dr. for a shot is an idiot. I suppose you want us to go get a pain shot every day and then drive home. Duh! And for the concerned child, I'm sorry your parent is a drug addict but Dr. K didn't force your parent to miss use the meds. He shouldn't be held accountable for other peoples actions. Dr. K is a God send.

I was riding my bike a couple of years ago and woke up in I.C.U. My lower back was crushed in a way that surgery is not an option,if not for the Dr. I would be unable to care for myself, any person on pain management needs to be responsible and honest with their Dr.
I have tried everything out there to eliminate the disabling pain,I live alone and have no living family,so for the concerned child, well, give me an option I am all ears, will you come to my house and change my sheets, empty my urine bottle, cook my meals?Because without the medicine for my 24 hour a day chronic pain I would be helpless and I don't have blue cross I have Medicare and a small SSDI check every month that barely pays the bills.I had a good job until someone(still don't know who) ran me over with their vehicle and didn't even stop.

This is a legitimate question. Why do people go to pain management clinics instead of their primary care phisicians? They both write perscriptions. Just curious.
