With a name like that, you might want to wear a turban and hold onto your wallet.

I used Dr. Patel who I like but they bill under the Pain Management Center ID instead of his ID.He is on my insurance but where he works is out of network!
MAKE SURE both he & the clinic are both in network on your insurance because a round of epidurals will cost you $7000 just for the clinic part.I have already filed appeals with my insurance & the state insurance department. One other thing that bugs me is they charge you $1.50 to use a charge or debit card to pay your co-pay.I know I could pay cash but this is just part of doing business.I think it is petty and I have never known another Doctor to do this.Don't miss your appointment time either because that is another fee of $50.

so you want to bitch about paying $1.50 to use your credit card , but you don't mind sticking the other health insurance premium payers and the american tax payers with a $7000 shot? Let me guess, you voted for obama and want government medical plans?

What are you even talking about? I am not sticking anything to anybody.Yes I expect my private Insurance which I pay $738 a month for to pay my doctor which is in THEIR network. This has nothing to do with taxpayers or Obama. What a Complete Dumbass you are!

Dr. Patel is an excellent pain management physician. He is skilled in both the use of medication and procedures to relieve pain in his patients. He completes a thorough history and exam on every new patient and works hard to find the root cause of your pain before starting any type of treatment (can't hit the target if you don't know where to aim).

Be warned that he has low tolerance for those who are only seeking drugs for recreation or profit and will quickly discharge these patients and inform the police if necessary.

Good luck in finding relief from your pain.

Travis, if you read that from my comments than you either have trouble with reading comprehension or a drug problem or maybe both.

My point is that Dr. Patel uses medications (and other treatment modalities) appropriately, when indicated by the patient's presentation, physical exam findings, history and underlying pain generator.

Like I said, hold onto your wallet. Anyone who lets you run up a $7,000 bill as a surprise is a creep and a crook.
I don't care what kind of pain you have, a bottle of vodka can cost as little as $11 and will work for at least a couple or three days.

Jeez, the nerve of these asshats who call themselves doctors. They are not healers, they are parasites upon the bodies of those who are hurting, no matter how good their bedside manner is.

My wife is one patient that the dear doctor did not do an evaluation on. He simply did what the orthopedic surgeon ordered and did no patient to patient consultation. His office will not do any of the paperwork to get the mail order drugs like every other Dr.s office does for us. They charge you a $1.50 for any payment besides cash. Once, when I did not have exact change, they kept the extra $5.00 for the next visit. My point is that they have no customer concern at the front desk and from our experience, none for the patient. When I asked if there was a corporate office to voice my complaints to, I was told that it was the dear doctors policy. To me, this place is just another doc in the box for revenue enhancement with as little service as possible. On the other hand, we just met with a physicians assistant, who did a complete evaluation and she was great. I asked her why after all this time she did an evaluation now. She stated that it was due to a change in Medicare policies and they were doing it for all patients, medicare or not. Perhaps there is hope for this clinic, but the doctor really didn't impress us at all. This is just one persons limited experience so please don't equate my opinion with Obama, socialized medicine, or any off the wall attack on my social position.

I go to this Dr. also I had a epidural in August had a epidural he charged 1,758.50 okay no problem this is what he always charged.I have been going to him for 7 years for epidurals etc.
I went in Sept.had another epidural looked at the bill charged 670.00 and 211.00 okay no problem last week I got another bill for the same date charged me 7,000 dollars more.I went crazy called the office said he can charge what he wants he has another door you go in for the shots WHAT the fu88.
I am still in shock.I am on disability of course I have insurance from my goverment employer where I worked 26 years.
I have no idea what I'm gonna do they said you can talk to him when you come back in.So I have to pay for a appt. just to talk to him.BTW,it's 100.00 if you miss a appoitment.
I can't see how he can get away with this one month it's 1,700 the next it 8,000 plus since he charged my insurance twice.
This is serious so keep your stupid comments to yourself if this happened to any of you you would be having a nervous breakdown.

I now know that I am not the only one having problems with Dr. Patel & Comprehensive Pain Management.I have a $5000 balance because they billed through the clinic instead of the doctor. How can a Doctor be In network & his clinic be out of network? It isn't like he makes housecalls.I would never recommend them to anyone becase of their shady ethics.I did file a complaint with United Heathcare, the Doctor and the office of John Oxendine the State Insurance Commissioner.http://www.gainsu rance.org/ConsumerService/Home .aspx I certainly feel your pain dealing with this Doctor.

Pain management doctors turn people into drug addicts. I went to one after an ankle surgery that did not go well and I was suffering pretty severe nerve pain. The doctor I used was willing to write a prescription for whatever I wanted. He asked me what I wanted to try. He prescribed a lot that I never had filled. I opted for a nerve pain medication that worked and was not a narcotic. At one time, I had prescriptions for vicodin, lyrica, demerol, flexeril and morphine. Please excuse my spelling if there are errors. I think pain management doctors need to work a little differently. Somebody should be going behind them to see what they are writing. Don't you wonder why the drug of choice right now is prescription pain pills (opiates)? They are easy to find, either everyone has their own stash from their doctor or they get them and sell them. It makes me sick to think about it.

This Dr. as I used that term loosely, has been treating people for year's at the exact same place the same procedure and charge 7,000 for the same procedure he did the month before,
When the procedure is cleared by your insurance they know if it's covered or not.Why would they do it if it wasn't covered?
How in the HELL can a person be left with a bill of over 5,000.
Where is someone gonna dig up that kind of money will he say no pay no service, this can't be legal. When he finds their are complaints will he kick you to the curb for doing this?
I also go to him and got the bill,I am afraid he will throw me out if I compain and I certainly don't have the money.I pay over 300.00 dollars a month on the precriptions and on disabiility and only make 14,000 a year.So if you complain he finds out your out of luck.
