Is Pelican Bay shorting county?

Pelican Bay police sure are writing a lot of tickets. The tiny city is also robbing Tarrant County taxpayers of money.

I would to know just how far out of Pelican Bay the police can go and issues tickets. Why should they be able to issue tickets in Azle city limits and be able to recieve the fines. Shouldn't the money go to Azle?

iwould like two know as a residence of pelicanbay.why do we get harrasst for not using our turnsingle and ticket.ive been pulled over 3times with in 2weeks for not using my turnsingle.all 3times i had use my turnsingle.that was the reason for the officer pulling me over. my question is why we pay fines and they do the same and get away with it.

Tammy, you are saying you were pulled over 3 times within a two week period for not signaling a turn? You are also claiming that you DID use your turn single all 3 times?

Was this the same officer all 3 times? Have you filed a formal complaint? Tell me more..

From my last comment asking how far Pelican Bay can go outside of Pelican Bay was due to being stopped at Liberty School for speeding. I was told at that time I had a warrant in Pelican Bay for a ticket I never took care of, which I did. The Officer Porter was very kind and did not take me to jail that night. Two days later I was stopped by Azle police for a legitimate reason and they called Pelican Bay who came and got me and took me to jail. Didn't make a lot of sense why I was let go one night and told to take care of things on Monday and before Monday got there I was in jail. The female PB police officer that took me to jail would not explain anything to me and would not let me speak period. She drove 80 mph on 820 trying to get me to jail, weaving in and out of traffic while I was sliding around in the back seat without a seat belt on. She also called Officer Porter and chewed him out on the way to jail because now SHE was having to go to all the trouble of taking to jail when he should have. Cost me $564 to get out, and I still have the speeding ticket. Where did that money go? To another new car? I guarantee you it wasn't put towards street repairs!!!

It looks like some changes will be forth coming in the PB Police Department. Two new Council Members, Joe Davis & Calvin Hunter were voted in an Incumbent, Renee' McWhorter won another term. Joe Davis ran because of a run in with PB police that he didn't feel was fair. Renee' McWhorter feels like the current Police Chief, Eddie Frankum is paid too much ($70k) and is running an illegal towing storage lot. PB is still in violation for not accepting credit cards for fines and storage fees. Looks like his days are numbered.

Make sure you attend the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 10th at 6:30pm at the City Hall. One of the topics of discussion is Police Dept reform and the possible firing of the Police Chief. You are not the only one alleging harassment by the PD. The City Council needs your support to get this fixed so please try to be there.

Use your turn signal, get insurance and stop breaking the law and you will probably not be stopped by the police. I seriously doubt that your car was impounded because of a broken windshield. The reason you all live in Pelican Bay is because you dropped out of school in the 6th grade and you don't have jobs. Get a life, losers. Pelican Bay is a crap hole and most of its residents are low life losers that can't make it anywhere else, just like most members of the city council. Joe Davis, Calvin Hunter and Renee McWhorter all dropped out of school and never tried to further their education. None of them are employed and they all cause problems. I know a guy that lives across the street from McWhorter who brags about smoking marijuana with McWhorter. I say build a fence around Pelican Bay and keep all of the trash contained.

Let's not forget that renee Mcwhorter was behind Frankum in the beginning giving him everything he wanted along with everyone else on the council. Frankum terminated serveral officer ilegally and then arrested the ones who presented evidence against him to the council.He then hid behind his position in the city for protection. So I feel the council new first hand as to what Frankum was doing and now that he is tuening against the city and trying to destroy them also now they want to stand up and cry for help. The city has had nothing but problems every since they got rid of Chief Clark. He did not do anything ilegal, he upheld the law and tried to do the best he could without the councils support. They turned Clark down on starting the impound up when he tried to follow the rules governed by Texas. Then the city council approved of it when Frankum started the impound ilegally.(The city benefited from it) Which bring me to the point of thats how Frankum got his pay..... The chief of Pelican Bay making more than the chief of Azle come on. Hell Give that Money to TCSO and they would dedicate an officer around the clock I bet. I think Frankum and all the council members who supported him on all of his ilegal acts should be punished and sit there asses in jail.

Frankum is a crooked cop period. He has done everything from planting evidence to the fabrication of incident just to get a bust and try to justify his $70,000 year. Frankum has what is coming to him and so does anyone else he associates with. The DA's office is investigating and will file charges in the near future. As a resident of Pelican Bay for Five(5) years, I've seen some pretty messed up things fo on. I've had an Identity Theft Case dismissed due to lack of evidence, and the only thing missing was me personally bringing that person in with me, and handing them to the police. They've pulled me over in my own yard just to introduce themselves as the "New Officer's In Pelican Bay". Then scolded me about a crack in My windshield. If you've responded to some of the comments prior to this one; judging person's whom live here, you must be either New, or Stupid if you haven't seen some of the stuff that happens out here.

In addition; Where have you ever seen it a normal place for an Officer to be parked in the turning lane, and seemingly; just wanting someone to do anything possible he can get you on that in his eyes; would be wrong? I can assure you that nobody can honestly say it's right. You've got to go around them, and if you're not exactly in the turning lane in front of them; they will pull you over. I am a witness, and so are alot of others; just nobody will say it. I was warned before moving here, but I never in a million years imagined it would be this OUTRAGOUS.

Frankum FOOLED alot of people including the council. I do believe that McWhorter questioned and objected to frankum's high salary and she was the one who first contacted the authorities about Frankum's actions (Illegal).
She was also threatned by him and his goonies, heck he tried to arrest her two times on bogus charges...she warned the council of his illegal duties and they took NO ACTION>>>and why not ask her for a piss test?? Bet she passes with a negative for drugs. At least the woman stood up to him and didn't back down. She was and still is a thorn in frankum's side, I hope she remains cautious of that crazy man. It seems that everyone wants to blame Ms McWhorter but you seem to forget that she is just ONE vote on a panel of FIVE. If the rest go against what she was trying to do, then there isn't anything else she could do but contact the authorities.
And as for the person who praises George Clark while he was the chief, do you know he purchased an assult rifle on a city account(without approval) and then sold it to another former cop??? The DA is very interested in that transaction!!! Clark would not follow directions from his bosses (council) and I heard he dressed like a beach bum on vacation. He also took city funds to finance his k-9 program, doesn't sound like anyone I would want for a chief.
I hope for Pelican Bay that the new chief and officers can live and work through all the trash that has been left by former officers and what I've heard they are doing just that....

Well you need to get your facts straight before you speak. Clark did purchase an AR-15 on the with city funds, but he did not sale it to an ex cop it was to a citizen.
People questioned his dress code. he did wear civilian clothing while at work. He didn't dress like a beach bum, but he did not wear a professional iniform.
Not all police Officers who work or have worked in the past in Pelican Bay are crooks. Pelican Bay has ruined alot of carreers because of small town BS and past city council members who were more about what they would benefit out of the deal verses what was right for the city.
Currently the city council has been filled with good people hopefully they will stay in office long enough to clean the place up.
AS for Frankum he is a weasil and I would love to meet him in a dark alley.
