My opinion is the Mayor is doing a great job and hope she runs again. City council on the other hand needs to get their heads out of their asses and look around.They need to quit with the favoritism and looking out for themselves. They have such a clik going and if something is not good for them we must not need it.(police)It's a wonder the Mayor can get anything done with the clowns we have on council.

I agree with "resident" as do many others! The Mayor has done a wonderful job getting things accomplised for the betterment of the City.I believe that some of those who choose to waste their time, talent and energy looking for things to b---- about are actually jealous that they are not the ones making decisions and getting regonized! Probably just ticked they didn't get elected or re-elected, and hopefully will not in April. It is all about the power for some of you and you know who you are.Before the current Mayor Marionville had a Mayor that worked a full time job away from the City & could only find time very late in the evening or the wee hours of the morning to attend to his duties.Not being available to the public.He also, was to work for the betterment of the City but could not even take care of his own yard or home, fine example I say.Just what did he accomplish for us during his time in office? Our Police force was nothing but a joke at one time. I guess paying an officer to surf the net for porn was much better than paying him to uphold the law. There are those of you who view the world through rose colored glass's. I understand that is is hard for those of us that have lived here all our lives to admit that our sweet town could have a durg problem just like any other town in the USA. Most of you would be surprised to see how many of your friends, neighbors and yes, RELATIVES are into the drug scene. Maybe we need to look in our own backyard before we point fingers. That might be because so many times we think of druggies as dirty looking, creepy people. You might be surprised to learn that they actually come from all walks of life, young, old, rich, poor, they might be wearing torn jeans and no shirt or a three piece suit. The reason we are hearing to much about this problem now isn't because our new cops brought the problem with them but because we now have cops THAT GIVE A CRAP!They want to do the job they trained for, the job they were hired for, keeping our town safe. It unfortunitly is not the town we grew up in, times are changing and yes there are law abiding citizens here but there are also those that break the law. Why does this seem to be such a problem for some of you to understand?
What ever happened to what our parents taught us, WHAT THE BIBLE TELLS US? YOU ALL CLAIM TO BE SUCH GOOD CHRISTIANS YET IT SEEMS YOUR MAIN GOAL IN LIFE IS TO SEE WHAT/WHO YOU CAN FIND FAULT WITH. Many went to school with the Mayor and have know her all your lives. Do you really feel in your hearts that she means to harm anyone or the City that she grew up in and is so proud to be a part of? I dont believe any of you would take the office without good intentions. Anyone that is in one of these two positions (Police or Mayor)and doing the job they were hired for is bound to upset the apple cart from time to time. On the other hand, if you are in one of these positions doing nothing to better the community there will be fewer complaints, following my drift here?
I believe our Chief is doing a great job, we should be thankful to have someone from a larger City, he will of course have more experience because he has probably seen it all and heard it all.

NO ONE HERE CLAIMED TO BE CHRISTIANS LET ALONE GOOD CHRISTIANS!! I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS! DID THE CITY PAY FOR THE MAYORS ASPHAULT DRIVEWAY? IS IT LEGAL FOR HER TO GO TO THE METHODIST MANNER AND COLLECT VOTES FOR HERSELF AND THEN TELL EVERYONE THAT IS RUNNING AGAINST HER TO NOT BOTHER THE ELDERLY??? WE HAVE LAWS GOVERNING THAT TYPE OF THING IT IS CALLED LEGAL ABSENTEE BALLOTS!! THEY NEED TO CHECK IT OUT COME VOTING TIME. THE COUNTY KNOWS WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON. HOW DO YOU GET THE STATE TO AUDIT THE CITY? HOW MANY SIGNATURES DO YOU NEED TO GET IT? WHY DOES THE CITY KEEP BORROWING MONEY FROM THE GOVT. FOR FIRE, POLICE AND CITY HALL AND HAS NEVER ONCE PUT ANY MONEY OUT FOR THE CITIZENS SAFETY OTHER THAN A FAST COP CAR AND MENTALLY ILL POLICE? IF THEY ARE SO GRANT HAPPY WHY DONT THEY PUT IN FOR A LOAN FOR A SAFE STORM SHELTER FOR THE PEOPLE IN MARIONVILLE, INSTEAD OF HAVING CHURCHES OPEN THERE DOORS TO THEIR BASEMENTS, THAT THE STATE AND FEDERAL PEOPLE HAVE SAID THAT MARIONVILLE MO. SHELTERS ARE NOT UP TO SAFETY CODE AND THEY HAVENT EVEN ASKED FOR HELP TO BUILD ONE, LIKE PIERCE CITY DID. THEY SAID THAT THE CHURCHES WERE UNSAFE AND THAT WE WERE BETTER OFF JUST STAYING IN OUR OWN HOMES DUE TO THE AGE OF THE CHURCHES AND THEM COLLAPSING IN ON TOP OF EVERYONE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT BUILT STRONG ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND THE TYPE OF WIND A TORNADO PUTS OUT. I'LL TELL YOU WHY BECAUSE THE CITY OFFICIALS COULD CARE LESS ABOUT ITS CITIZENS AS LONG AS WE PAY TAXES AND SEWER BILLS THERE A## IS COVERED. IF THINGS DONT CHANGE THE CITY WILL BE BROKE AND NO ONE WILL LIVE IN MARIONVILLE ANYMORE. HAVENT YOU NOTICED IN THE PAST YEAR THAT THERE ARE MORE EMPTY HOMES THAN FULL ONES. MARIONVILLE IS GETTTING SMALLER AND SMALLER. BY NEXT YEAR IF IT CONTINUES ON IT'S DOWNWARD SPIRAL WE WON'T NEED THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL THERE WONT BE ANY STUDENTS TO PUT IN IT. I THINK THAT THERE IS TIME FOR A CHANGE IN THE CITY, OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW. GET NEW MEMBERS IN COUNCIL AND A NEW MAYOR AND NEW CITY HELP AND TRY ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING FOR THE CITY BESIDES WASTE WHAT MONEY COMES IN FOR NEW POLICE CARS AND RESCUE CARS. I HOPE THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO WHEN THEY GET IN THERE NEW, FAST CARS. IT WOULD BE A CRYING SHAME THAT PEOPLE DIE DUE TO LACK OF TRAINING!!! "BUT BY GOSH THEY GOT THERE FAST" HA!
GET OUT AND VOTE! GET HER OUT AND TRY SOMEONE HONEST AND CONCERNED FOR THE PEOPLE IN TOWN. IVE LIVED HERE FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN MARIONVILLE LOOK SO MUCH LIKE A GHOST TOWN AS IT DOES NOW. IT IS A CRYING SHAME THAT GREED AND POWER TOOK IT OVER AND NOW LOOK WHERE IT GOT US, AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED THE MAYOR HAS DONE WAY TO LITTLE WAY TO LATE. IT IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE SOLUTION - MISS. MAYOR, GET INTERESTED IN THE PEOPLE AND THE PEOPLE WILL GET INTERESTED IN THE CITY THEN THE CITY WILL GROW AND THRIVE BY THE PEOPLE NOT BY YOU AND YOUR FLUNKIES. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! LET'S TAKE BACK OUR QUIET LITTLE CITY AND MAKE OUR OWN DESTINY FOR OUR COMMUNITY. VOTE HER OUT!!!! FREE THE TOWN FROM THE MAYOR THAT THINK SHE OWNS THE WHOLE CITY. I have been attending church in Marionville for about 10 years and I am now moving there. I can tell you that I know the Mayor personally and that the city did NOT pay for the asphalting of her driveway. That was done way before she became Mayor. I do have to say that I agree with the storm shelters. I've been in one of those church basements during a warning and it was very crowded and I have to say that the city could build a much safer shelter for it's citizens to go to. Oh by the way...the Mayor is very interested in the people of Marionville. Maybe ppl just to take the time to get to know her and her family. She certainly doesn't think that she owns the entire community. She only owns her piece of land in the community just like everyone else. My point is that the Mayor is a caring individual who I personally believe has done a great job in Marionville. Just think about how much of a joke the police dept was before. I remember we used to laugh in high school because the police wouldn't do a darn thing to stop anyone for doing something illegal. Now, there is a definite and real police around. That's all I have to say.
