Gospel singer Dottie Rambo dies in tour bus wreck in Mo.

Joyce "Dottie" Rambo, an influential gospel singer and songwriter, died early Sunday when her tour bus ran off the highway and struck an embankment.

To my relatives Reba Rambo and Donnie McGuire in Nashville, my heart goes out to you. To lose your family member on Mother's Day is hard to imagine. Dottie was quite the icon in the music world. I regret not having the chance to met her. However I can listen to her classic gospel music that will live on for ever.

Reba Rambo is my cousin's wife. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to meet her Mother Dottie. It has been some time since I spoke to Reba and cousin Donnie McGuire who resides in Nashville.

Again how sad and a loss to all that love her.

I am so terribly saddend by my Star of Gospel Music, precious Dottie, being taken from us.
She was the most cherished singer/song writer that's ever been......and so anointed!

Reba, I have been praying for you, because I know you must be hurting beyond words.....
My! what a legacy your Mom did leave for you, and
for all of us who loved her so. I know your children will miss "Grand Dot".

But praise the Lord, we know where she is !!!!
And now she is really "Beholding The Lamb".
The last time I saw her was at a songwriting
seminar in Tuscloosa, AL about 5 years ago...
And I have pictures of she and I together..
I cherish those moments.....
She was the best....

The best of the best, Dottie Rambo, has left us,
but it's so comforting to know that we will see her again one day.....
Oh, the joy she must be experiencing at this very moment!
I can't say enough about her.....
Our ladies trio used to sing her songs before Reba ever started singing with her Mom and Dad.
They are the best........
And then after Reba started singing, it was just wonderful.....a great trio....the blend was overwhelming....
