In olden days, every village had one: an idiot. Just one, though. A village with too many idiots collected the extra ones and put them on a ship of fools.

Oh I love the way he starts this :-)

Pierce is contemptuous of educated elites who abuse the credulous for power and profit.

I have travelled extensively throughout Europe and America and thought the saddest place I had every visited was Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland however I have just returned home to Scotland after a vist to Kentucy where I visited the Creationist Museum in Petersburg. This place was sadder than Auschwitz for as Auschwitz is a monument to the stupidity of the past this place is a monument to the stupidity of the future.
Like most educated Europeans I am a secularist with no belief in a god and it horrifies me that children are being taught this absurd nonsence as scientific fact.
Something has gone seriously wrong when the nation that put a man on the moon and has been at the forefront of technical advancement almost since its conception feels the need to errect a monument to stupidity on this scale - I dispair for the children.

Ya know, I had never heard of this museum. And as a Christian, the concept of dinosaurs on the ark makes absolutely no sense to me.......

As Roddy said "A monument to stupidity" and to the gullible.

Sounds very PT Barnum to me. Sad :-(
