was this person given counseling about the urge to rape. Is there a medical reason, chemical imbalance?

Illinois does not make an effort to rehabilitate, they just incarcerate and throw back out on the street. Then they make them register as if that is going to stop their urges. I have a brother, 67 years old. He was convicted of Statutory rape 12 years ago. He received probation and had to register for 10 years. He lives with me. This was a one time thing that happened. 2 years ago he was allowed to discontue registering. The halloween after that, I had trick or treaters come to my house and tell me that they were not allowed to come there before because a bad man lived here, but now that he has moved it is okay. Well he didn't move, he still lives with me. So you see how misleading this is. Rather than have these parolees register, why don't we treat them so that they would not be a threat.

I am the daughter of this man and had to find out my father died in prison from reading this article. While I DO NOT respect what my father had done in his life, I do appreciate if people would let him die in peace. He was not perfect, but he is a father and grandfather of people who do not wish to be reading about his death like this. Have some respect for the family if not for him.

No, my father was not given any counseling and my father was mentally ill. He was also abused most of his life before this happen, so when people have the cruelness of not respecting that their are family members out there that had to find out about his death via these news articles and comments, that is just rude and cruel. |

I have to say that these offenders need to be punished for their acts. However, IDOC is worthless. Maybe if there was counseling for inmates and some kind of education while they are locked up, they might have a different mindset. All these offenders have is time to think about committing crimes. Maybe if the politicians would not put our taxes in their pocket we would have rehabilitation for these inmates.
