West Lebanon honors veterans

For the past 40 years or so, area veterans have been kicking around the idea of erecting a memorial to the veterans who live - or did live - in the township.

Enjoyed the ceremony AND the nice story and pictures in the paper. I was impressed at how you persevered, Kathy, as the raindrops fell on your notepad. Those ballpoint pens don't like to write on wet paper, do they? Great story!

To Harry Fox and his committee, thank you for a moving and uplifting ceremony on Independence Day. You were probably busy with details, but for your information, at the beginning of the service, Mother Nature took care of the flyover you requested--by a dove. And at night, the fireworks at Coleman's Park provided a spectacular backdrop to the new monument honoring our veterans. Nice job everyone.
