This is a joke, right? This paper stated from Baxter that the new police officer was just starting to get to know people. What a lie, I think everyone needs to know that we were never told that the city hired a new officer, we don`t even know his name. That is how much the Mayor thinks of Augusta and the people in it. Also, isnt that Darrell the same person who ran during the drug bust in the spring? What a crew around here and 3 cops on in a town that is 2 miles long. Give me a break!

Maybe you were not informed personally of the new officer, but people wanted more coverage for emergencies and now there is an officer available. And for the person in question, if you read the article that is not the name, it gives a clear understanding on the situation. Law Enforcement job is to investigate situations that is of concern and while making sure citizens in the community are safe.
If it weren't for officers doing their job while being there to assist, would you be complaining the same? Possibly it would be more productive to Thank these Men for doing the job they are hired, it is not an easy task and should be appreciated for their efforts.

We understand. Trust us we have been walked on, lied to and treated like third rate citizens by the leaders of our community. So stick your CLEAR UNDERSTANDING where the sun don`t shine. You are clueless here.

3 cops at a everyone is passed out drunk on drugs party and they wake one up and let him flee? come on! the 3 of them couldn't have blocked him first. What an embarrassment to the community. As for falling in a hole...I want to know, as a citizen, where this hole is so I can bring some dirt and fill it in so a child or an elderly person doesn't step in and break a leg. If there really was a hole.

Maybe next time the officers won't waste their time on the idiots of this town and just shoot them, that would solve about 3/4 of not only Augusta problems but the state's too. The kid had a warrant for his arrest, while they were attending to others in question he leaped at the opportunity, the kid is a runner and it wouldn't have mattered who was standing there, he would have ran, it is his instinctive nature. At 2 in the morning it is dark, and accidents can occur while running after a fugitive, too bad they don't have K9's to run his little butt down and this wouldn't be an issue. Seems a few are tickled and applauding that there is druggies lose in the town causing problems then to appreciate that there is a law enforcement. Do you want drugs and heroin transported and distributed in this community or do you want it safe? Maybe it should be up for a vote, COPS or DRUGS.

Is the cemetary in the city limits? Do not think that even if the police were on duty that a vandalism would not occur. That would be like hiring the national guard to watch over every property in the town.

walking home after a Halloween Party, two young men decided to take a shortcut through the cemetary for a thrill. They both stopped abrumptly when they heard a mysterious tap-tap-tap noise in the shadows. Their eyes grew large until the mist cleared and saw an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping at one of the headstones.

"Gee Mister!" one of them explained. You scared us half to death! We thought you were a ghost!
What are you doing working here so late at night?

The man replied angrily "Those darn fools misspelled my name".

Possibilities of Head Stones Knocked Over:

With the town drama and gossip, possibly a few ancestors are rolling over in their graves laughing.

While listening to visitors discussion on Politics and changes to the future of America, a few ancestors blew their tops.
