Visited the scene today. In the extreme darkness, the fresh dirt work over the culvert on both sides of 13th street may have looked like the entrance to Estates at Liberty Park. He may have been trying to turn in there, cutting through on his way home. Anytime, roads are altered it can confuse drivers, especially late at night. Maybe reflective flags or something should have been put up.
And there are so many homes along 13th now, with another fatal car crash (last one was just a couple of weeks ago!) it's time for the city to light this area properly.
This was a wonderful young man. We are so sad about his death.
Heard that maybe neighbors heard noise from accident, but did not see anything. Please call the police when you hear something strange, whether you see something or not. This poor boy was left out there all night long after this tragic accident.
Rest in peace sweet Kaden.

I would have to venture to say he was not turning into any housing addition. I saw the car and being the repair business it looks to me like speed was definitely a huge factor. I am hoping it was not alcohol too as too many times that is the case. There is nothing that the city could have done to prevent this. You say he may have been heading home? If that is what he was doing he was well aware of the area. It is a very sad case for the family but let us wait and see what the toxicology report said, that is if the family wanted to know. What was the young man's last name. By the way the other too that died here were very drunk and not wearing seat belts. When are they going to put an end to this drunk driving?
