Seriously, I'd like to know where and when islam came up with the slogan that islam is the religion of peace and tolerance.

The problem with Islam is it advocates peace on one verse and death and destruction on another. Both the terrorists and the apologists can point to a verse that support their causes.

That's true from what I've seen- much like the Bible/Torah. Biggest difference is that Christians in the West these days are pretty much neutered.
