N.J. gay couples looking for a civil union 'dissolution' find it's harder than 'divorce'

There are 30 comments on the www.nj.com story from Dec 31, 2009, titled N.J. gay couples looking for a civil union 'dissolution' find it's harder than 'divorce'. In it, www.nj.com reports that:

For same-sex couples unhappy in their civil unions, breaking up is hard to do. For starters, ending a civil union is called "dissolution," not "divorce," and legal experts say the difference between those two words has created confusion over which laws and cases apply to civil unions.

I am less interested in what the average is than who the couples are at the high end of the bell-curve . . . so I can learn from them what they know that I don't. @_@

Very wise. With that attitude, and assuming you are not married or partnered, you will probably have a very long-lasting relationship should you pick someone as wise as yourself. And it can be either a same-sex couple or and opposite sex couple that you choose for your role model. My role models were the marriages of my parents and my spouse's parents. Both lasted until one spouse died. The shortest was 40 years, and the longest was 52.

I cant believe some states still don't allow gay marriage. What an ignorant and backwards country and state we live in.

Why do people choose to be gay? It's completely disgusting!

No one chooses to be gay dear, we simply choose to live openly and honestly with who we were born to be. You on the other hand weren't born to be the way you chose to turn out, so why would you make such a pathetic lifestyle choice???

You were not born with it. No one is born gay. Being gay is a sin. Loving the same sex in the ways that gays do is wrong and it goes against the Bible.

I don't hate gays as people. I just despise the sin.

You're smarter than doctors and scientists? Gays most certainly ARE born "that way" and are not sinning because God GAVE them their sexual orientation. Wow, do YOU have a lot to learn! YOU could have a gay child or grandchild some day - and no, there are none in my immediate family, just 2 cousins who live far away, but I would never hold that against them. I believe you stopped thinking about 25 years ago, cavewoman.

Good for you, Rick. The only sin would be having to live a lie. God bless. Some people, and it seems often "religious" ones, are the most homophobic of all. THAT'S a sin. Nobody's asking them to do it, they should just mind their own business. Hope we can talk again :)
