Break-ups happen.Life should go one. Esp at that young of an age. Don't blame the girl for what the boy did. IMO-In light of what he did to himself-he wasn't mature enough to handle a relationship. He made the decision to kill himself. He was the one who got the gun and pulled the trigger. I feel sorry for all families involved on all sides here. Him and hers. Before you go lambasting me, I, myself,do not know either party in this incident, am just stating MY OPINION. I heard at SE graduation, the girl was treated like crap. What a shame, others placing blame on her. Just tell your kids that if they ever need to talk to someone. there is always help available. Whether from family, friends or school councilors -Dr.s-SOMEBODY- never give up hope, or think that you are alone..........Peace

Correction to be made-during the SE graduation today, the ex-girlfriend was treated like it was all her fault what he did to himself.

Its a sad situation all the way around. He made the choice to die no one else made it for him. As far as how she was treated at graduation, is everyone's personnal opinion. My child treated her like he always has, with love and friendship, so don't be saying "everyone" treated her badly. i think alot of the kids avoided her because they didn't know what to say to her. Its a alot to handle when your that age.

Chef....good for you to post another unbiased comment...really. Just like yours, my post is also how I saw it and I did not say "everyone" treated her bad..........I know it will take a heck of a lot of understanding, counciling and deep thinking for all involved with this tragedy to come to terms . It could be years , if at all. My prayers include those on all sides of this situation. Hope they can have Peace some day.

His name was Damien Keeton and was a student at SE high school. He attended school in Auburn for a while so a lot of Auburn kids are upset also.

How and why would he do such a thing? He looks like a child, not a 16 year old.

The earlier posts pretty much cover the why....I did hear his older sister did not like the ex-girlfriend (also a Sr at SE).

it's sad, but we don't know the whole story so we should probably just not jump to any conclusions. whatever the reason, other kids' emotions are involved and it would be better for them not to hear it was because of someone or something or read that people think so.
i'm sorry for the loss.

I attending the SE graduation and I saw how bad some of the people mistreated Kayla. My heart goes out to her because none of this is her fault. I admit this is a very bad situation but no is blame but himself. I can't imagine how bad your life could be at 16 years old. We have all been threw bad things in our lives but if you believe in yourself you can make it threw anything. I'm feel very sorry for his family because this is a very hard time for them, as is for Kayla. So I think people should take the time to think about things before they do anything. As for Kayla I"m so sorry that you have had to go threw this, I just want to you to know that you should not be blamed none of this was you fault. As for the family I hope that you all stick together threw this difficult time in your life...all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

it shouldn't be blamed on anyone or any one event or relationship. no matter what happened, there is always more to the story than anyone else could know. in the end, people are responsible for themselves and people should try not to place blame on others instead. i only run into her on occassion but she's always been very sweet to me and no matter what faults anyone has, she's just a kid, too. i hope she's doing okay. i hope his family is doing as well as they can be. terrible thing.

I may sound crass on this, but folks, that boy is dead, this girl is still living and she needs to have a life after this misfortune. On top of that, she is a kid, underage.
