Bond vote

Although I’m a big supporter of PSC and Brownville Theatre, Winery, Concert Series, etc. after yesterday’s vote why should I be? They have no problem being resentful and vindictive, so touché.

Your fighting attitude will solve nothing. You do know that more than likely the folks from Brownville that are active in the Theater, Winery & Concert Series are probably those few that voted "yes". What is good for Brownville and Peru is good for Auburn and what's good for Auburn is good for the entire county. We all need to support each other...even if you don't think you feel their support in return. Question #1 passed! This is a great start. Let's focus on the positive and look to the future. Let the healing begin!

And just a note, overall we lost question #2 by only 15 votes. Auburn's own 1st Douglas voted #2 down by 16 votes. Focusing all your frustration on only Brownville and Peru is not really fair.

All three would have carried if it wasn't for Auburn too. In Auburn's 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Douglas... 494 voted "NO" on question #2, and 517 voted "NO" on #3. Why are you not yelling about them?
Listen, I'm frustrated too. But I think writing posts like yours won't help mend fences. I ask my children when they fight and complain; "are you helping or hurting the situation". I think by posting things like yours only hurts the situation and makes grudges fester. Let's try to think of ways to help our situation. Like I said before, We Passed #1!! What a great start! Let the healing begin.

The first time that those two towns Brownville and Peru slapped us in the face by voting no we were nice and turned the other cheek. Just like good little boys and girls. Then they up and did it to us again, and you want us to look the other way. Forget it. I will no longer support the "arts " in Brownvill or attend any of Peru's events. PERU and Brownvilee Suck!

I am from Peru. I could not be more disappointed in a town. I voted for the bond.

Sally is right the people here are stupid. I am moving. I HATE this town, I was born and raised here. I will not be putting that on my resume. God I am so embarrassed to say I'm from Peru.

Sad that some are putting all of the blame on people who live in Peru. Some people in Peru voted "for" and I was one of them. And yes, I too am disgusted by the results. I'm really disappointed with the result of this vote. I go to school at AHS, and I'm a very active member in all of the fine arts departments. A new Theater (#2) is needed so badly by this school. A loss, by such a small number votes as well, really upset me.

I considered voting voting NO even on 1. It is still hard to swallow that they closed and sold Sheriden for almost nothing. Cooper put in a lot less than $4M to fix it up and it has even more then what bond #1 will do at Calvert.

YOU ARE STUPID. Have you ever shopped around for a car and tried to get the best deal possible.
This bond was a great deal. The rates will NEVER EVER be this low again. Do you think construction cost are going to go down sometime in your "later scenario. Sheriden was sold for 325,000 thousand dollars yea that is cheap. The plan is to educate students efficient by sharing teachers in the same building that accomplishes that very nicely.
Do You know how expensive it is to keep a building like the Peru school and Sheridan open and operating safely. I do I was in the education business for years. We could have build ten school for what it would have cost to bring it all up to codes. So "Miss I'm not stupid" apparently you did not do your homework.
