It would be nice to see more business development coming here. Many new hip tasty restaurants have opened and done well here! 111 chophouse, Block 5, Bocado, and can't wait to try the new MezCal. A new boutique Tush is opening with denim stuff I heard- near the cool Canal District. Anyone hear of any other new stores coming here? A new upscale deli would be nice? Stores catering to all ages, like a Filene's Basement.

[ SPOIL'D boutique is coming!!! They have men- women- kids clothes with awesome style. They have a great selection of jeans and really good shirts too. This is there second location. The first store is in Westboro. I am very excited about this one.

oh yeah...I've been there. They have a huge selection of jeans. True Religions, William Rast and so many more. The owner fit me in my jeans and I loved everything she picked for me. I bought 2 pairs and I'm going back for more. I also heard they were coming to Shrewsbury St...can't wait

SWEET Pastry Shop and Dessert Bar is coming to Shrewsbury Street and will be located right next to Spoil'd. The owner previously had an award winning bakery in Sturbridge. Besides being a cake and pastry shop Sweet will be open late night and feature a large bar where you can watch the pastry chefs as they prepare your dessert. Yummy and fun... I am excited to see more upscale, hip shops coming to Worcester.

I never heard of SPOIL'D .
Beth, I was excited too but really, these upscale shops do not stay in, do they now? SPOIL'D and Tush and Rio will fold due to recession.(Sad but true). Nothing stays in here- gotta go back to Newton, Boston, and Natick for anything great and I personally will NOT shop in any boutique where 3 desperate salesgirl SMOTHER me while I'm trying to shop in peace. Luisa (Wellesley shop) and Jasmine Solo both do this too! The drive is worth it Newton's Filenes Basement. Plus,my family's from there anyway. |

I am right there too Beth... I am really excited to see new stuff coming to Worcester. It shows things are happening and people are coming back to the city and are spending. SPOIL'D is open now ans I went. it's really good. The selection is great.

I spent my first summer in Worcester 35 years ago. Back then the Galleria at Worcester Center was booming with Filene's and Jordan Marsh. I think Forbes & Wallace was around then. Bring back the summer of '73.

No pressure at SPOIL'D. The owner is usually there and lets you walk around and gives great info on what your looking at. BUT, never does she push you to buy. I love it. It's so relaxed. I feel like I'm at my friends house. Highly recommend it. Don't shop anywhere else this shop has it all.

Sad that the area around TUSH boutique is very dangerous ! I thought the district would improve but it has gotten much worse, crimewise. Be careful.

Oh my I just posted above and then "Lowell Ma" came up. I am Jonquil from above, and maybe I needed to keep my cap "J" ?? Lmao.

I've been to Tush, Rio, and Spoil'd and I think its great that stylish retail is returning to Worcester! If we want to see positive change in our community, we need to support new businesses and not send people away and plan for their demise. Worcester has tons of potential and some of the natives are it's worst enemies! The canal district is booming and hardly unsafe! Block 5 is right across the street from Tush and always busy.

There is another store that has opened in Northboro, NIVA, it's beautiful, they did a really nice job designing it, they have funky clothing as well as a nice selection beautiful dresses for going out.

Katie,
The boutiques are nice, true, but that area is very unsafe ! Crime, stabbings, drug deals, muggings are rampant in Worcester, and that area where Tush is, is dangerous. I like Tush and Block5 too, but will stick to Rio, Chophouse, Spoild, Tribeca, Mezcal, Via, because I feel much safer on Shrewsbury Street. I wish Tush had gone into a better area . The owners are very nice people. |
