Is Obama's Faith Important?

Barack Obama says he is a Christian. I don't know that he is, but out of fairness to him, I will take his word. I cannot see anything in Obama's daily walk that tells me he is a Christian. His policies conflict with the Christian faith. Obama believes that people of all faiths can have a relationship with God and have eternal life. I would like for Christians supporting Obama to share with the readers why you support Obama. What is it about Obama that draws you to him? Does it matter to you that he believes you don't have to be a Christian to go to heaven?

Yes, absolutely, it matters what Obama's faith is. First of all, it really bothers me that he claims to be a Christian, but bears no fruit of a Christian. It leaves me to think he is playing the part, to boost himself politically. I am not sure he even knows what it means to be a Christian, since it is not being taught in the church he attends. He believes if you believe Jesus is the Son of God, and carry a Bible and go to church, "presto", you are a Christian. Even Satan believes Jesus is the Son of God.

To be a born again Christian, you must BELIEVE that Jesus is the only Savior who came into this world and paid the penalty for YOUR sin. Then Confess to Him your sin, Confess your belief in Him, and with the words of your mouth Confess your acceptance of His free gift of salvation.(Romans 10:9)

Obama believes people of all faiths are the same, that Jesus is not the only redempter. That statement says he only believes in Jesus as a teacher and prophet. Jesus says the only way to God is thru Him. It is not me judging Obama not to be a Christian. He is doing a good job of it himself, by devalueing the shed blood of Jesus. Jesus would not have had to die if there were other ways to be saved. It is ridiculous that a so-called Christian would say you don't need Jesus to get to heaven.

It is important to me, too, that Obama is affiliated with an Africentric organization that teaches hatred of America and hatred of whites. When Mr. Wright speaks of the negro race in America, he says they are like birds in a cage, and USA is the cage. If he thinks they are caged, then he should be directing them to get out of this country. I would not live in a country I hated. I would not affiliate with a church that curses America and mocks the teachings of the Bible. Mr. Obama's says we take Mr. Wright's teachings out of context. I say Mr. Wright takes Jesus' teachings out of context and uses short phrases from the Bible, and twists the words around to suit his political agenda.

May God judge Obama, Mr. Wright and their church fairly and show them the error of their ways. And, God BLESS America!

The previous entry by KY Christian demonstrates what is wrong with a question about ones "faith". The whole concept of a "faith" is like a formal "hope" in something that is without demonstrated evidence. We need a realist as president and leader. Moral behavior does not require a particular belief system, and belief itself is whatever one wants it to be. You can believe anything---good or bad, accepting or rejecting, fearing or loving. What one believes is very much related to culture in its rawest form. Believing in a kind of salvation is not necessary to be a great, moral leader. And, I say this as someone who has studied the nature of faith and belief systems for most of my life.

To be a President of the United States you have to be a born American. It does not say what religion you have to be to be President. If this is a free country I think that any born American can be a President no matter what religion he/she is.

You are right, there is no "policy" on religion for a man to run for president. You are absolutely right!

BUT, when you go to the polls to vote, you have the right and the privilege to use any criteria you want, in deciding who you are going to vote for. "I" will only vote for a Christian.

You may only vote for a "Democrat". You may only vote for a particular race. You may only vote for someone that raises taxes and promises more social programs. You may only vote for someone that is pro-abortion. You may only vote for someone that is pro-gay marriage. You may only vote for someone that hates America. You may only vote for someone that tries to outlaw Christmas.

BUT, I will only vote for a Christian. I will only vote for a man that will cut social programs and offer incentives to individuals to get them off welfare. I will only vote for someone that will not mess with the institution of marriage. I will only vote for someone that is pro-life. I will only vote for someone that will cut everybody's taxes. I will only vote for someone that will not give tax rebates to people that don't pay taxes. I will only vote for a president that is not a racist.

You can laugh at Christians all you want. And, it does matter what you believe. If you don't believe in God, that is just fine. Just don't worry about those of us that do. And, don't worry about what decisions we make at the polls. And, don't even think about telling us we should keep our faith out of politics. And, I won't tell you what to think.
