Carl, I don't know what you're talking about, but I have been dealing with Steve at Cuddy Car Care and Customs for many years and he does excellent work. He has done many of my classic restorations without a hitch. Pricing was awesome, and I couldn't be more happy with his services. Perhaps the problem lies within you? Sounds like you're a tightwad, and probably one of those people who are never happy unless they are complaining.

I've been restoring cars since 1970. I've rebuilt old chevys and classic corvettes. I no longer work on my cars. I leave that to CUDDY CAR CARE. Steve Cuddy is a good man and an excellent automotive specialist. I have nothing but good things to say about the quality of his work and the rates he charges. More often than not he doesn't charge for every service he performs on the customer's car. I agree, I think you just want to complain

First you big bob #1 Cuddy has not been around for many years. No the problem does not lie within me, thatís funny. Tightwad not me I wish I was. I'm a positive person this was the first time I went onto one of these sites to complain. He did keep the car for three times the promised date, Iím not talking about a few days, he was 84 days late. He did overcharge me that can't be argued it's a fact. The quality of work is terrible again it's a fact. He did not repair what we agreed to, was hardly ever around, ask him where he goes on Mondays. He is so proud of his work he wouldn't let me test drive the car until I paid.I told him he could go with me he gave me a BS answer that his insurance wouldnít let him.
Happy you just make no sense at all, he doesn't charge for every service thatís just a dumb statement. He wanted 85.00 plus parts to change a 5.00 gas filter would have taken him 3 minutes. Took me five, but I didn't have a lift. Took him 90 days to get a part that anyone could get in one day.
He blamed his workers, the weather his ex-partner and the weather for not finishing the car on time. He just can't stop lying. His rating with the BBB F.
Now which one of you fellas is Steve? I would guess big bob you come off kind of wimpy like Steve. He must be doing well he's down to one part time employee. Either you guys don't know Steve or you are Steve. If you are Steve you should be ashamed of what you did.

little elm Ė You obviously have a personnel vendetta against the owner of Cuddy Car Care. Steve has done work for me at previous custom shops. I followed him out here because of the quality of his work.
You donít know about carsÖIíve been in Steveís shop when youíve been in there. I Recommended to Steve that he send you packing because your attitude was caustic from the beginning. You brought in an extremely substandard custom designed and built vehicle that had been given to you, and expected it to be rebuilt for nothing. You had the opportunity to stop the work at any point in time, but you did not.
And finally Sir, I assure you that I am not Steve. I am a happy customer and I think youíve had your 15 minutes of fame. You are attempting to extort money for the repairs that you authorized and were completed with much better service and professionalism than your ranting and prejudices (The dictionary defines as preformed opinion, usually an unfavorable one, based on insufficient knowledge, irrational feelings, or inaccurate stereotypes.)

Personal vendetta, thatís just insane. This is business. Let stick to facts not lies. The only information that you have came from Steve so itís second hand. You made a statement that you were in the shop the say time as me, only once was someone else in the shop that Steve had done what he calls custom work for and that was 10 days before I picked up the car. So you didnít recommended to send me packing, my attitude is not caustic. I kept trying to give this guy a chance I could see that his business was in trouble.
Your statement that I donít know about cars, well you donít know me so how would you know, and how does that even matter?
Your statement ĒYou brought in an extremely substandard custom designed and built vehicle that had been given to you, and expected it to be rebuilt for nothingĒ. Iím sorry you donít like my car if my car didnít meet up to the high standards that you and Steve set, should have refused to work on the car. I didnít bring the car in to be rebuilt; I brought it in to be repaired. Youíre coming off a little arrogant and petulant.
Yes the car was given to me; nice gift and I truly appreciate it. Thereís a very long story about this gift that I would like to share with you how it was a gift from my sister and also my mother but not on this forum. Had the opportunity to stop the work at any time, that is true on 7-28-10 I went to Cuddy to do just that, at that point after 30 days the only thing he had done is resin a board and take out the seats. He said he wanted six hundred dollars to put the seats back. We argued this point for a while and he agreed to start working on the car. Next time I decided to take the car out of there he had pulled the steering column to late again. I expected the car to be rebuilt for nothing, interesting statement. Let me tell you 5000.00 is not nothing to me itís a lot of money and thatís the budget we agreed on.
The car was brought in to have the steering fixed and to stop the car from bottoming out. Neither one is fixed. Steve told me they were fixed so he could charge me for the custom items. I gave Steve a deposit of 2000.00 for parts the day we agreed on what was to be done, bet he didnít tell you that. It was over ninety days before he finally got the steering column. Thatís the same column that he said he ordered the day after I gave him the deposit. Accusing me of extortion now your really reaching, be very careful of what you accuse people of. Better service and professionalism thatís a joke. Car was promised to be completed in 30 day took me 114 days and itís barely drive-able. Your definition of ďprejudicesĒ your describing yourself, any thing that you know about me is second hand. Look you know who I am call me Iíll show you the bill, thatís paid in full and the car and you decide who telling the truth.

Word has gotten around this area that he could go either way. Your either really happy or really pissed off when you leave. I guess he needs to stick to corvettes. I had good experiences with him but have heard of other folks with issues. No business is perfect, neither is it's owners. But what do you expect out of a California transplant?

The unhappy customer list keeps growing. I filed a complaint with the BBB he declined to tell the truth. His response was very confusing he wandered all over the place made up stories about things that never happened. I offered to drop the whole thing if he would show us any proof of his statements he declined. They advised me to sue him.
On the advise of an attorney turned him in to the Attorney Generals Office got a letter back from them that this could take awhile. If that doesnít work, I think it will, then weíll take him to court. One good thing about my last post it shut up cuddyís cronies.

Interesting posts here. I myself stopped in about 6 months ago to ask some questions in regards to doing some minor work on my firebird.
Conversation went something like this
'Nice shop, How many old pontiacs have you worked on?'
'Why does that matter?
'OK can you give me some examples of any Pontaic work?'
'What do you spealize in? what current projects do you have going on?'
'I do everything'
At that point I thanked him for his time and left. So if you have a classic car in this area who do you recommend for mechanical work?
