Prepaid cell-phone use grows during recession
#1 Feb 21, 2009
What they aren't telling you is that your landline is far more reliable than a cell phone. It's more reliable for 911 and it comes back faster in an emergency. If your power goes out for 24 hours I guess you can charge your phone in your car, provided a building hasn't fallen on it. See connectforsafety.com re safety issues. Whether or not you have a prepaid or a contract, it is much better to keep your landline and much safer if you need to call 911, but then T-Mobile isn't wired like some of the other carriers. Shame Shame Shame.

Are you assigned a telephone number that you can keep? Can you receive incoming calls or just make outgoing calls?
