Thank you for displaying your ignorance for the world. Roy was attacked by a tiger. Tigers are not domesticated animals. And 90% of the people who say their dog has never behaved that way before are either lying or have established themselves as an alpha to that dog so it never behaved that way towards them. meanwhile they have neglected or mistreated what otherwise would have been a loving animal.<quoted text>
Domesticated does not mean safe. It does not mean that they don't have their instinct. It isn't the owners...I have posted in many other "pit bull attacks" post and I always put the same statistic...2/3's of the attacks are the FIRST sign of violence from the attacking dogs. They may be the sweetest dog to their owners...but put in the right situation...they will surely attack. That means if they escape their comfortable home, they will attack a smaller animal (child) to protect their territory. Don't give me that crap about the owners...pit bulls are vicious animals. Domesticated or not. Just ask Roy (Sigfreid & Roy) about domesticated animals. There is no defending these animals, they are instinctive, they are vicious, they are killers. PERIOD.

If providing facts is ignorant...then I guess I'm guilty. How do you know those people are lying? You cannot intelligently comment on that. I know tigers are not dogs, but those that live with Roy are just as domesticated as most house pets. They have been bred to be domesticated.
Here is the definition per wikipedia:
Domestication refers to the process whereby a population of animals or plants, through a process of selection, becomes accustomed to the provision and control of other plants or animals.
So, yes...those tigers were domesticated.
Pit bulls are vicious creatures. We could breed badgers for centuries and they would still have that instinct they have now. Just like pit bulls...they have that instinct that cannot ever be bred out of them. They are vicious creaters and should be treated as such.
Before you dare to present yourself as more intelligent...make sure you have facts and not speculation.

I soo agree. Dogs are not born knowing how humans expect them to behave.(Actually, the same goes for our kiddos.) Without proper instruction they act as dogs instinctually act... like animals. Mix in a powerful breed such as a Pit... of course it could be very dangerous. Obviously the owner failed to instruct him in expected or acceptable dog behavior. That is where the problem lies, not with the dog.
