The dog should be put down. It will attack again. What is WRONG with our laws?

Hopefully it will attack his owner and they he will be put down. Very sad situation. I bet the owner is a minority and the City doesn't want a discrimination lawsuit.

they = then (to the correctors of spelling, grammar, and punctuation)

Is the owner at least going to pay the child's medical expenses, and has the City ordered the owner to repair his fence?

More details are needed. Perhaps the kid helped the dog dig holes under the fence or antagonized the dog. It is not always the dog at fault.

It is really distrubing how the laws are double standard. Strict laws protect animals, the same laws dont protect HUMANS from the animals (visous dogs). After people are being attacked on a daily basis from DOGS and people constantly call the city for assistance and help never come then it is unlawful to try and protect yourself. When there is an attack or situation that involves someone doing something intetional or unintentional to a animal the human is arrested and the animal continues to live and carry on as normal. Something need to be done by the city department to assist in getting these dogs roaming the streets and attacking people and small animals after many calls to them has been placed.

i just wonder how much the attacks from pits have gone up percentage wise with this ridiculous flood of illegals.i know if one attacked me or my kid there would be one less to worry about.i hope americans are getting sick of this type of senario. i see illegals drinking beer and rideing around in the backs of trucks almost daily at the quick shops and no cops stop them or nothing.this type of problem has gotten out of hand , if i done this i would be arrested.what has happend to this state to let this B.S. go on......

If this is indeed a vicious dog and has attacked unprovoked by digging under the fence, place a few poisoned steaks on your side of the fence so when the dog digs under and eats the steaks it dies. Problem solved. Use enough poison to do the job and not just to make the dog sick, that would be cruel. Don't blame it on the illegals there are more that enough stupid rednecks breeding pits so the can fight them. Just remember Mike Vick was not illegal nor was his whole outfit of dog fighting.

None of this was the dog's fault.

All races own these vicious dogs....don't single out illegals.Like I have said many times before, these attacks are going to continue to happen, unless the law decides to change the regulations .

I too live in Denton County. I have a small terrier mix. He bit a little girl at the bus stop, barely breaking the skin. He spent the next 10 days under observation at my expense which is how it should be. Why does the aggressive breed go home the next day? I would keep making noise. This is your childs life, you can't afford to worry about being a good neighbor at this point.

It said in the story that the dog was quarantined for 10 days!! See people, not every dog that attacks is a Pit, they can just do more damage quicker, and if that dog was truly attacking as the family says, to get stiches or not wouldn't have been an option!

What? All I quoted what was the story said, which was that the dog had been quaratined for 10 days. If you have other inside sources that say the dog was not, then great! I will go with what the story says since they probably verified their sources first!

Euthanize them both. Anyone stupid enough to keep a dog after it has attacked someone doesn't need to be here.

If that dog had bit my son, there wouldn't be any need for a quarantine.

Q: "What kind of dog was it?"

A: "I can't tell. It looks like spam with fur!"

As much as I love my dogs, if one of them bit one of the neighborhood kids, she'd have to be put down. We have a lab, rottweiler/lab mix, dachshund and boxer. They all are much loved pets, but a child is far more important.

Give the kid a beer and tell them to shake it off.
