Sorry for your loss Mrs. Montanaro I remember that sad time the cross and flowers on the side of the road. It is outragous that a plea negotiations are allowed in court case were a criminal act (DWI) results in death. Seven years is about what they sentence for burglary in New York. It apears from reading the newspaper article the DA did not do a proper job with the DWI evidence.
Once again Mrs. Montanaro I am sorry for your loss.

2 1/3 years I believe was the intent. But maybe 213 years would be more appropriate.

" Does anyone care about Albert? " Sorry for your loss but, don't expect too many people to care about your husband being killed. People are too busy paying attention to all of the women who have been victims of violence to notice your loss. A man and his loss are considered worth less than nothing in a society that is becoming more and more misandric. If you local new media did a story on his death, they probably exploited ten ,or more, instances of female crime victims to his one story. Again , sorry for your loss

I just happened to be searching and came across what you had wrote. I knew Albert, not a day goes by that i don't drive by The Chasm Cemetary and look on the hill and think of the senseless loss his family and friends have had to endure. I followed the media and was so upset to find that our justice system really seem to benefit the trash of the world and not the victim. Albert was a great person and will forever be missed.

I sure hope that DA isn't proud of this case. That poor young man lost his life, parents lost their son etc. Never can that be returned but maybe they could have gotten a little bit of justice if people knew how to do their jobs. Prayers go out to the family and friends that knew that young man.

Judge Richard Meyer made a mockery of our son's life. He treated our son's murderer like a king! The killer will serve almost four years for murder! Baker was going over 130mph when he ran down our son in broad daylight on a straight away. Our son did not have a chance. After hitting Albert, Albert's legs and buttocks were thrown over 700 feet in the air! How fast is that! Baker, the murderer laughed about killing Albert. Richard Meyer should be in jail for the torture he put our family through. He is a very sick man!!!! A man with a suspended license for speeding, 16 beers and pot in his system, plus a host of other offenses gets 4 years for murder?

Meyer also waved all Baker's fines...even the mandatory fines. It cost Essex taxpayers a few million for the chance to put a murdered in medium security for 4 years with no fines!!! How crazy is this system? Meyer is also a liar. He called Albert the "alledged victim" and claimed he had to by law. Meyer wouldn't know the law or justice if it was in front of him. The police, DA, and jury all did their jobs. It was Judge Meyer who failed the State of New York. The man needs therapy and needs to be removed from office ASAP!

Many thanks to those who knew and loved Albert as well as to those good people who have supported us throughout these difficult times. Your kind words and deeds will never be forgotten.

If you only knew half of the true story, you would be outraged. Judge Meyer loves to torture innocent people. In two years when Baker is back driving, Baker will kill again. We'll all have Judge Richard Meyer to blame.

The PR should do some follow-up stories on court cases like Baker's. People have no idea just how unethical the Essex Court is. It's hard enough to know your child went to more than one morgue but to sit in Meyer's court is HELL.

The Associated Press Update Report:

2 Mass. men accused of killing man, cooking body:
Daniel Bradley stands in district court Monday, June 8, 2009, in Wrentham, Mass., during his arraignment for first-degree murder of Angel Antonio Ramirez, who has been missing since March. Prosecutors say two Massachusetts men killed a drug dealer to clear a debt, then dismembered his body and cooked the remains. Daniel Bradley said to neighbors "I checked out Jeffrey Dahmer's fancy restaurant and I ate good in the neighborhood and I got a copy of Dahmer's fancy receipe so I did what he did". Forty-seven-year-old Daniel Bradley of Westwood and 48-year-old Paul Moccia of Dedham pleaded not guilty Monday to murder in the death of 37-year-old Angel Antonio Ramirez of Framingham. Daniel Bradley, and Paul Moccia, stand in district court Monday, June 8, 2009, in Wrentham, Mass., during their arraignment for first-degree murder of Angel Antonio Ramirez, who has been missing since March. The two were ordered held without bail. Authorities say Moccia owed Ramirez $70,000 from drug deals. They say Moccia shot Ramirez in March and Bradley helped him destroy the body. Relatives of Angel Ramirez sit in district court Monday, June 8, 2009, in Wrentham, Mass., during the arraignment of Daniel Bradley and Paul Moccia, not visible, for the first-degree murder of Ramirez, who has been missing since March.
That's around the time Ramirez, a construction worker, was reported missing. Defense attorneys say their clients are innocent and note prosecutors haven't produced a body.

Nothing anyone says or does can take your pain away or bring your son back, but hopefully we will get to see the day when that monster gets what he deserves. Have it be a year or ten years from now, I like to believe in kharma and that Baker is going to have hell to pay!

Thank you for your concern. Unfortunately, thanks to Judge Richard Meyer, Baker will not get what he deserves. They say the law is on the side of the criminal. With the dishonorable Judge Meyer, he makes the entire law on the side of the criminal. The people of Essex County need to know what is going on in their county. There are many good people who would be shocked by what Meyer has done to our family. Seriously, this guy needs to be removed from office immediately.
One example of his torture was when Baker (the man who ran down our son) was sentenced. Not only did Meyer refer to our son's murderer as "a kind and gentle man" (like we really needed to hear that!) but he also offered him a reduced sentenced of 2 1/3 years to seven--which means he'll spend four--We were promised that Baker would provide an allucution (sp?--basically, Baker tells the true story of what happened the day he ran down Albert without penalty). We waited desperately to hear the truth of what happened that day. When it came time for Baker to tell the truth without penalty, Judge Meyer says:"there is no need for allucution since we already have Mr.Baker's testimony under oath...I'm waving allucution..." I couldn't believe my ears! Under oath Baker lied multiple times! He pretended to be blind, he said he doesn't drink alcohol...only Mountain Dew, he said the sun was in his eyes and he didn't see Albert, then he said it was too dark to see Albert, he said he "thought IT (meaning Albert) was a deer"....so he did see him!...That's why he slowed down before killing him....that's why he bragged and laughed about killing that college boy. Isn't there a law against perjury? Baker and his passenger, Brown, lied so many times in Meyer's court and to the grand jury, it was insane!...even Livingston Hatch remarked about their lies!
Judge Meyer needs to learn that justice for all includes the victim!!! I wonder how he would feel if his son was murdered by Baker.
The good people of Essex (especially the Republicans) deserve to know how messed up their local government is...the torture Richard Meyer put our innocent family through is criminal. There is no excuse for what Meyer did to our family. The man needss to be removed from office immediately.
We did not expect anything from Steven Baker. During his life, Baker repeatedly has demonstrated a depraved indifference to human life and the law. He was a time bomb waiting to explode. Judge Meyer, on the other hand, is an elected offical with an education. We expected a little bit of decency and ethical behavior from him. We received just the opposite.
If the people of Essex knew all of what he did to us, they would insist on his resignation. Our son was a good boy who never even had a time-out...let alone a ticket. He loved life and the law. He deserved better than Richard Meyer. Someday the truth will be revealed...Meyer will no longer be able to hide behide his dark robe. There is something desperately wrong in Essex County.

Karma is going to get Steven Baker before he is done serving the disgusting sentence he received. Losing such an amazing guy and friend (and son) is something no one should ever have to go through and to not have justice served is just obsurd. The monster, murderer, putrid excuse for a man that did this will one day rot in hell for his actions, that is a promise. I am still so sorry for your loss Mrs. Montanaro..Albert will never, ever be forgotten and lives on in all of our memories. I am so sorry your family has had to endure such pain from the trial, after losing such a precious life. Like I said, karma is going to catch up to him, just like it always does...especially when every friend and family member Albert has, firmly believes in it.

Thank you so much for your encouragement. Let's all pray Baker doesn't kill someone else when he gets out. My heart tells me he will kill again because he thinks he's better than the rest of us and has no regrets. Thanks again...you sound like a good person.

I am so saddened by this story. I am a mother also and a member of M.A.D.D. I can not believe the man got away with murder with a very light sentence. I think the government is corrupt in this area. What was the outcome of the other D.W.I. accident in Keeseville where two young men were run over? I followed the story in the beginning, but it has since seemed to drop from the news?

I agree, 213 years would of been a good sentence. And I believe he'll get his sooner or later. What comes around goes around, I've seen it happen a few times in my life. Everyone gets there punishment one way or another.

maybe you don't know the story but albert was her son, not her husband, i hope that lots of people care about this. there are lots of people being killed because other people had to drink and get behind the wheel. there were other people killed right in keeseville because of that. i think that it is really stupid, that somebody can't wait until they get home to drink. if you need a drink that bad, then maybe you should be in AA!

I've known your family forever, grew up with Tommy and my first crush was on Albert, when attending my first "Boy/girl" party for Tommy's birthday, I think in the 2nd grade. I remember Albert helping me with the egg on the spoon game we played. ha ha. I know we were never as close as many of his friends, but his memories are all around us.

I'm sorry for your lost but you need to get your facts straight. Steve was not driving over 130 mph nor is he happy about what happened. If your going to say something about somebody then make sure that you don,t lie yourself. What happened to your son was wrong and yes Steve deserves to be where he is no dought, but you cant keep lieing about the facts.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Capricorn

You're in a very generous and kind frame of mind today, and you'll go out of your way to help others if you think they need it. You might donate some money to a good cause or decide that charity begins at home. If you're buying gifts for some of your loved ones it will be difficult to know when to stop, because you could easily get carried away.
