I have worked for the BOP for 18 years and have seen so much. I am sitting here in KY with tears in my eyes to know that another brave hero had to lose his life doing his job. We are the forgotten heros! My prayers are with Jose's family. You are not alone! God bless you all, my comrades!

I am a nurse for the BOP. I am crying for his family right now. This is actually a sad reminder of what can happen where we work. Prison's are too overcrowded and there is NOT ENOUGH STAFF!!!!!! God bless this family and please help them through this very tough time.

I'm also sitting here reading this with tears in my eyes and prayers in my heart for his family. This is the business we have chose and this is a worst as it gets. I hoping the all staff there are evaluating how important having adequate staff around. God Bless my fallen brother, his family and those like us. He has made the ultimate sacrifice.

My heart and prayers go out to the CO's family.

Incidents like this is why prisoners should be locked down for 23 hours a day and only leave their cell mwhile in handcuffs. There is way too much freedom in our prisons for this to be considered punishment.

Where are the deterrents of the prison system? When a homeless man in Florida begs to go back to prison because it's too dangerous on the streets something is seriously flawed!

Our hearts and prayers go out to Officer Rivera's family. Hopefully these two scumbags will be brought to justice unlike the MURDERER of Officer Scott Williams ten years ago. God bless every officer out there..

My heart condolences to the family of Officer Jose Rivera.
The BOP is seriously under-staffed. BOP employees have complained, everyone knew this was coming. Everyone knew an officer was going to be killed!
Investigate...don't let this man die in vain.
