Modesto, Merced, and Salinas are all locations where the mortgage meltdown fiasco has created huge inventories of unmarketable McMansion homes. These palatial monstrosities, which were purchased by speculators who took out interest only loans to make their temporary place to park their money a tax-shelter, and poor campesinos who couldn't begin to understand the nuances of adjustable ARM mortgages, bankrupted both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and filled the vaults of banks like Bank of America,(which took over Countrywide Financial), and Wells Fargo,(which is still sitting on about 12 BILLION dollars of non-performing mortgage-backed securities)with totally toxic assets. To address this problem, our beloved Ms. Caballero, who sponsored AB 765, which enabled over ten thousand Californians who bought new, unoccupied homes between March 1 and July 2 this year with tax credits worth up to 3,333 per year for the next three years. What did this do? Simple. It sucked up 70 million dollars in California tax revenue in a time when we are cutting desperately needed services to the rest of the state. If this is the kind of legislative leadership and responsibility you love, go ahead, vote for Anna Caballero, the best friend the development lobby ever had.

I speak for many who read your comments in the Salinas Californian, when I say your comments are informative and insightful. Thank you.

Anna is going to knock the socks off Anthony Cannella in the 12th Senate race because she is about substance. Her experience in dealing with water issues, agriculture, business issues, and her ability to work toward solutions are well documented. This seat is going Democract this time!
