I TOTALLY agree. 8 out of 10 of them in jail committed a crime that cost SOME INNOCENT person their rights in one way or another. But yet, they (the criminals) cry foul when their rights are in jeopardy. A criminal in jail for an attack against another person SHOULD LOSE ALL OF THEIR RIGHTS. After all, they (the criminal) had chosen to violate someone else’s rights.

As far as I am concerned, the criminals have life too easy for what they did.

Just to let you all know, I have a relative in prison since 1982 for murder. And I feel the same about him. He has too many rights. I have stated that to my family and everyone agrees, even his mother agrees now.

i have been poor and didn't rob a 96 yr old lady.
i have gone hungry and didn't kill some person for a big mac
i have been sleeping in my car and didn't shoot a couple in delaware park .
it's called life choices.
make good choices and life will be alright .
make bad ones and go to jail where ya belong.

I CANNOT believe that there are such cold-hearted people out there!! Regardless of what this man had done to get where he is, he is still a person, a human, a gift from God.. No matter how rich, how poor, how innocent or guilty, EVERYONE deserves proper medical care. That is why people choose the medical profession- to help and heal- NOT TO JUDGE.. I am a nurse and I treat everyone equally no matter who they are..Yes, I have treated patients who are incarcerated and I treat them as I would anyone else, because that is my job..My job is not to judge and neither is anyone elses here.
I have a brother is prison for murder. He pleaded guilty because he knew he did wrong. I know he did wrong. The whole family knows he did wrong. However, he is a human being. Everyone in jail or prison, they are not the same, deserve to be treated decently. I know I will get alot of grief from other readers/writers, but that's ok. If they had a family memeber in prison, they too would want their loved one taking care of properly. Yes, some of today's prisons are like country clubs, and the inmates sometimes learn absolutely nothing, nor do they regret what they did to be put there in the first place, but regardless, they still deserve proper medical treatment. Just like the rest of us. The way society is today, sometimes people make the choice to go into jail so that they have a safe place to go, a warm place to go in the winter, and food because they are starving. I am not excusing what my brother did, and I will never forget what he did, but I do forgive him. I do not judge him or others. It is not our place. That right belongs only to God.

<quoted text>Like everything else in NYS the commission would have covered someones butt as they always do. As far as I can tell the co's has no reason to enter his cell. They pass food trays through the door, if he was out of control I'm sure they could have put gas through the door also. You say he'd be alive if he didn't have anger management issues? He didn't kill anyone! State employee's did!
FOIL the Commissions report and find out the facts.
So far you have accused six officers of murder and an independent investigating of covering up for them. They were there and had the facts. you only have your imagination. Come on, do some homework

I cannot believe all the harsh comments left about this topic. This is my cousin and he was a great person. Everything that i am reading is pretty much an assumption. He is not a cold blooded killer . The reason he killed this man is because his own life was in danger. Obviously he wasnt convicted of first degree murder judging by his sentence. And he was not a drug addict either. He had a medical condition. My 13 year old cousin is going through one of the hardest moments in her life due to losing her dad and you ignorant assholds think this shit is all right that they let Dwight did. Inmate or not Dwight was a loved member of my family and we are going to all truly miss him. Get yall stories straight.

The Staff inside the prison are mostly ALL trained as First Responders. The 911 call was to facilitate TRANSPORTATION to a hospital if necessary. The wannabe firemen(VOLLYS) are just mad that they had to stop sitting around the Milgrove firehall plotting how to burn down a barn and have a fire to fight.Do you really think that the drunk vollys should have been let right in? Half of them have felony convictions, themselves!
two bad so sad

What about his victim ? He was locked up for killing someone not singing to loud in church. After this muts family wins the inmate lottery , the family of his murder victim should sue them for wrongful death. Onto fire marshal Bill , the only reason he wanted in was to see his MOMMY who works there !!! One down 70,000 to go !

he did wrong you say? oh my god no way. i cant believe it.
hes still a convicted murdering scumbag that should have his life taken for taking another life.
what kind of punishment is it for inmates to recieve 3 square meals, cable or satalite tv, recreational facilities, schooling, etc etc.... and we are all paying for that scumbag because he broke the law and killed someone.
and believe me if a family member of mine was in prison, id have no pity for him and id have the same feelings i do as i write this. your brother made a choice to break the law remember. he should suffer like he made his victim and his surviving family members.....

Dwight is your cousin and he was a good person? Hmmm, I don’t think so. If he was a “good person” as you claimed, then WHY was he is prison?
To begin with, his drug habit DISQUALIFIES him as a good person. Anyone who uses drugs and commits a crime against another person is a criminal PERIOD. Maybe he was a good person to others that abused drugs like he did. When he started to use drugs, he KNEW the chances of getting caught and paying the piper. Plus he became a burden to the tax payers of this state. If he had any respect of himself or to society, he would have kept his neck clean but as the proof shows, he did not do that. A good person DOES NOT DO THAT KIND OF STUFF…
As far as the manslaughter charge, why did he allow himself into a situation that led to this activity? Again, if he was a good person, then he would have known the difference between right or wrong. BUT again, maybe he wasn’t taught how to be a good person when he was a child to begin with.
Plain and simple, he took the wrong road and he paid three times for it.
