Steve Bench was a football coach when Glennie Bench was a cheerleader. I'm sure there are others! This isn't something that doesn't happen in Decatur County. If anything, this just shows that Whitehead wasn't part of the good ole boy system. Who you know is a big thing, especially here. WHAT?? is this the same Glennie Bench that is running for something in Decatur? The At Large post or something, unopposed

I still know somevery broken girls that played in the band in the 80īs, but the age of consent was 14 then in Georgia. I canīt stand Richard, but the sentence was silly. 12 months in the County Farm and loss of teaching certificate would have done it. Letīs try and get 20 year sentences for the little animals that are robbing and beating the migrant workers over by Las Lomas.

Correction wrote: <quoted text> I have to disagree with you. He was supposed to be a professional teaching students about English Language Arts. Professionally, he should have not participated in sexual activities with one of his students. He was supposed to be a role model to children, not a boyfriend. Its not acceptable. I do agree with you that she was not a child but an adolescent when the incident happened and should be accountable for her own actions. He was also married and his child was in school. Imagine the embarrassment and schock his child and wife felt because of the public humiliation. He was very selfish! What he did was very wrong - Morally and Ethically! Now, It was believed what he did was wrong legally and it would have been if the relationship had not been consentual. The Georgia Legislature will now re-write the law to make his actions illegal as they were intened by legislatures to begin with. NOW! What he did was wrong - but I feel that his sentence was too harsh! 20 years for something like this is ridiculous! I am glad he got a break and he is out! I agree with you on this. I do believe there should be a law that these teenagers could be charged with in these incidents. Just so they will know that it is also illegal for them to become involved with a teacher or someone that is in charge of them.

Let it be known that I hold this man in a very high reguard. As a former student and player, he will always have my support and respect! I do not expect any of you to be perfect either... but I do expect for Final justice to be served. For my friend, Richard Whitedead, I got your back buddy!

Sam "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone..." I do not know this person, but a teacher should not be having that type relationship with a student, and that's a fact. I do feel that the sentence that he was given was extreme. He should consider himself fortunate for the way things turned out, but he should also be very ashamed about this deed.

To everyone who left a comment on this, thank you so much for the entertainment. Your anonymity is simply a sign of weakness and merely proof that you most likely have no idea what you are talking about. I am quite confidant that none of you know the real story. Get your facts straight before you decide to gossip about someone, otherwise, keep your mouths shut. It seems you are all very quick to cast the first stone, when I have no doubt in my mind that all of you live in glass houses. I am just so very glad that each of you are able to get your mind off of your own problems by focusing on someone else's, and I really hope you feel better about yourselves now. People make mistakes and people change. Never once have I condoned what my dad did, but I have never stopped supporting him and loving him. So if any of you would actually be willing to say some of this to our faces, bring it on; although I'm sure the fact that you are resorting to a website is a sign of your cowardice. Thank you for your input on my family's lives :)

It is wrong anyway you look at it! Teachers should not have sexual relationships with students period! No your facts: Tommie and his wife did not start dating until several years after she returned home from school. I went to school with her and she had a steady boyfriend all through high school and most of college. The others you stated I know nothing about.

So far, I canīt see where anyone has attacked you personally. Sure I have a glass house, but the truth is , your dad is a prick, and I canīt stand him. I donīt think the sentence was right. You just need to put your big girl pants on and realize that your father is a douche bag. People donīt like douche bags no matter how much their daughters love them.
