Petty Officer Quintin Bohan, NSCC, graduated from the Petty Officer Leadership Academy through the Naval Sea Cadet Corps at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. Bohan, age 14, of Newnan, GA, is the son of Lee and Becki Bohan, and a member of the Columbus Ironclad Division of the Naval Sea Cadet Corps. During the two week training course, cadets learned basic leadership principals and techniques applicable both within and outside the Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Additional training included military history and courtesies, physical fitness, and the concepts of the Navy’s Core Values.
“Training such as POLA is great in developing the leadership skills of young men and women and preparing them to excel while in high school and afterwards” said Philip Winslett, Commanding Officer of the Columbus Ironclad Division.
The Naval Sea Cadet Corps and Navy League Cadet Corps are nationwide organizations dedicated to helping American youth realize personal success and achievement through a military oriented training program. Through Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, and Sea Cadet leadership, young Americans ages 10 to 18 can develop an interest in basic military skills, while learning the value of patriotism, courage, self-reliance, teamwork and accountability.
