I am amazed at everything you want to ban in the states, can't you just teach people to be responsible?

Once Again...Suozzi is OFF BASE...If anyone pulls out a gun, be it red, green, Yellow, Black, or Blue, they better be prepared to get SHOT AT. Weather its by a Police Officer, or a Legal Gun Carrying Nassau County Resident. If the criminals want to make the gun more visible...Im all for it.
If Tom Suozzi thinks that another law will stop the criminals from breaking the law, and only use a LEGAL COLOR GUN to commit crimes...He really needs to go home and look in the mirror and ask himself if he knows what is going on in the County. These B.S. Laws just keep hurting the people who pay attention to them.
If the Judges and DA Rice would put the criminals in Jail where they belong...we wouldnt have to worry about the color of the gun used to commit the crime.

This is passing feelgood legislation without a problem existing to support it. Neither Nassau or Suffolk counties can say that a problem exists with painted guns but they are going after them anyhow. I've got a great idea, when the Police and DA's offices prosecute all of the laws on the books really, really well if that doesn't have the desired effect then consider feelgood legislation to address as ridiculous of a non-problem as this. This is some self congratulating politicos attempt at publicity to BS his constituents into believing "I'm doing a great job and making you safer". What a disengenuous joke.

Commissioner Mulvey is an arrogant assinine prick. Who the hell is he to say what "he" will license"? Another long time beauracrat who needs to be rminded he works for the public. I suggest any police officer who has a gun pointed at them in any color shoot the pointer until the threat is over, period!

Another ridiculous gun law to add to the books. I really can't believe that Law enforcement takes brightly painted guns "seriously" as a threat to law enforcement. I live in texas and if my girl wants a pink revolver I am gonna get her a pink revolver. BTW have they looked at recent competetion pistols. They have been brightly colored lately.

I agree. We should do it like you do in your country where fathers teach their daughters how to be w h o r e s at the age of 7. And of course, all of the men wandering the streets are "responsible" about avoiding all the child brothels, right?
pointless!!

Colored guns are very very Dangerous.. I'm sirpised Liberal Suozzi & Mulvey are not saying its a "freedom of expression" Does the Ban include illegal aliens if they want a colored gun? or is any and all enforcement on illegal aliens banned?

A state budget deficit of 5 billion dollars.
Scandal after scandal coming out of Albany.
Ever rising local school and property taxes driving fixed income seniors to sell their homes.

Leave it to democrats like Suozzi and Levy to be more concerned with what color a gun is.

Some final thoughts. If a person legally owns a gun doesn't that make it private property? Where do local politicians get the power to legislate gun laws? Isn't that a function of the state legislature?

The dillhole Dems clean up the gangs, illegals, drug dealers, and homeless that pose a threat to the county. Legal gun owners are responsible people who pass an FBI check to buy a firearm. Are they gonna ban camo guns next? Somebody might hide in their garden with it. Maybe our little boys should play with dolls and not cowboys and indians. This country is getting soft and going down the tubes. Give John White a stiffer sentence for using an ILLEGAL handgun.

I am a gun owner, a 2nd amendment lover, retired military (25 yrs) and I find it offensive that ANYONE would try and make a gun look like something it is not (with the exception of people doing undercover work such as spying, etc.). A gun is nothing more than a tool and isn't dangerous as long as it is "at rest", however when you change the looks of the weapon to infer that it is not a tool, it's like walking into a pit of rattlesnakes with your eyes blindfolded! Something bad is going to happen! I believe Mr. Lauer needs to lose his license to change these guns from what looks like a gun to something that looks a toy. It's hard enough to be a conservative gun lover in a world of liberals without some IDIOT like him making stupid decisions like he has. Don Miller

I could not agree more. Nassau County siding with Bloomberg may be the death indication for the currupt Nassau Legislation.

People will have to repaint their guns and their own expense? That's why we have to oppose licensing and registration of firearms wherever we can. Because we cannot trust the government to keep its regulations reasonable.

It is racism to discriminate on the basis of the color of a gun.
