This should get some posts flowing.
After the incredible mess the Bush administration has created in the last 7 years, we're ready for change. If Obama gets the nomination, you'll see independents, as well as republicans turn out for him. McCain would be more of the same failed foreign policy that has created a much more dangerous world for our children and grandchildren.
Most importantly, all you have to do is look at what priorities each man holds dear. Obama's priorities are with the lower and middle classes. McCain would follow the same failed policies that the Bush administration has inflicted upon this great land - namely, government of the wealthy, by the wealthy, and for the wealthy.
Do the right thing and vote Obama in November.

I personally have not made a decision on which canidate I think is the best. But is that what Obama was doing in Chicago looking out for the lower and middle class? I don't believe there is a canidate running that is interested in anything more than lining there own pockets. We need our jobs kept in our country and we need to quit paying for the illegal aliens. Please tell me how Obama plans to do this and maybe he will get my vote......oh wait we have the electoral college so tell me anyways how he will get me to put a mark by his name.

socialized medicine, socilaized retirement, socialized housing, socialzed schools, socialized everything paid for by the rich who will end up moving away and then the US will be like a 3rd world country with a few rich politicians and indusrty bosses.
just having fun! |

I'll agree that OHB is charismatic, but that's about all he is. Even his own liberal democrats can't name anything he has accomplished while in his present office. He's will have a tough time as President.
|
|
|
And what exactly have any of his critics accomplished, other than line there own pockets with lobbyist money and talk about how bad the other party is? Not one politician in D.C. has done anything but that. On September 12, 2001 there were no republicans, democrats, red or blue states. Then we were all just Americans. The country was more united than it had been in a very long time. Bush said "I'm a uniter not a divider" during his campaign and thanks to him this country is more divided than any time since Vietnam. Who ever the next president is out of the three choices we have will be better than this idiot! At least all of them can speak in complete sentences!

Division is caused by a "my way or the highway attitude". In my life experiences it has always seemed that the real truth was usually someplace in the middle of what you or I believe in. It is when we do not have open minds to search that "truth" out that we become polarized.
The only time I can be right and you wrong or you right & me wrong is when you are dealing with statements of fact. However 90% of what we deal with in life are not positions of fact but situations where the conditions are changing and truth or reality is changing. And the problem we haev is that we always want to have a right and a wrong. It is like cooking, there are many ways to BBQ ribs, some I like and some I do not some you like and some you do not. That does not mean that your reibs are the best or my ribs are the best. We are just different. The left is wrong and the right is wrong. The reality we need to exist is someplace in the middle. If we fail to realize that we will fail as a society. I do not beleive in abortion, I believe all life is prescious, and if put in a position with a person who was considering abortion I would try to lay out many alternatives to prevent the abortion from happening. But at the end of the day the other person must make the decision and not me. If I do all I can to work with the person to show them alternatives I should be able to hang my head high and fel that I have been true to my beliefs. I will admit that I do nogt beleive that the government should be my papa or mama and try give me everything. The Government should however provide me the opportunity to be successful. That opportunity along with my hard work and my desire and willto succeed is all that I want. I think that we must realize that some folks would rather take it easy and are not as driven. That is OK but don't always come to th egovernmnet with your hand out. I sometimes wonder how our forefathers were able to survive and prosper in conditions that were a thouand times more difficult than we have today. I guess they were tougher and more self reliant. Two qualities that seem to be lacking today. And I think mr Mccain would be on OK selection for Pres. Willing to find the middle ground, tough on security and national defense, does not believe in earmarking, looks to the middle on imigration issues even though he comes from a border state. Is generally conservative but looks to find reality as seen by everyone, not just his sole point of view. This is turning out to be a great year for both politics and the western conference of the NBA. Less than 5 games seperate the top 9 teams in the west!!! |
Perhaps you need to do more research. You are not speaking the truth. |

If you are a supporter of OHB....name one accomplishment attributed to him. OK, even if you are not a supporter of OHB....name one accomplishment attributed to him. |
|
|
One accomplishment? One of the biggest selling points for me isn't really an accomplishment, more of a STAND he took, and stands are what he has made over the years. NOT, mind you, stands taken for the upper classes and corporate America, which this disasterous administration has done, but stands made for the other 90% of us - the middle and lower classes, the backbone of this great country.
The stand to which I refer is his refusal to back the monumental blunder of invading Iraq, the blunder that has made all of us more unsafe than we've been in decades. Not one other candidate can say that, and that's saying a tremendous amount. |

Most people can make stands for this, that, or the other, but it does not qualify them as presidential material. This is the case with OHB.

The Coburn-Obama transparency act provides for a government web site listing all organizations receiving Federal funds from 2007 onward and provides breakdowns by the agency allocating the funds, the doller amount given, and the purpose of the grant or contract. Tom Coburn is a republican senator from Oklahoma. |

That's one!!!! Good job. Did it do a lot of searching to find it?
|
|
|
No more searching than it would if you tried to find Abe Lincoln's accomplishments prior to him being elected president. But I am sure it would be much easier to find Dubya's prior to him being elected prez. and what a fine job he has done since!! But then again you just never know, I could end up voting for McCain in the General my friend, providing he has not died of old age.

Billary is likely to get the nomination. At least she showed up when her State needed her to vote. OHB's speech last night was sure a dull one! He knows he's losing. The press is finally asking him the hard questions about his background and his connections to people like Farakan(sp?). For Billary, her life is an opened book, thanks to Bill. I hope she's not a fool and asks him to be her running mate. McCain needs to find a very good running mate. This election we will have to vote for the best of evils.

I was talking about OHB here as a running mate and not Bill. HA! |

I think that McCains trophy wife will keep him young!!!
Everyone was talking about Fred Thompson's Trophy Wife, but McCains spouse looks pretty nice!! I also like that McCain is not a people pleaser. Seems that so many of our politicians always tell us what they think we wnat to hear. I want a to see someone who has a mind of his own and I think that McCain might just be that sort of person. I think that he is also to work in a bi-partison fashion - McCain Feigold and McCain Lieberman. Although he has cahged his position on the Bush taxes I do think taht a huge tax increase would in the short term not be good for the economy. Anyone who has any amount of investments in stocks and mutual funds or those of us who are married would end up paying more in taxes. Obama & Clinton say they only want to tax the rich, but at what level of income do they define a "rich" person. Rich in Macon, is mucg different that rich in Texas and again different than rich in California or New York! Also socialized medical scares me. what other government program has teh government been able to run effectively. the Post office, social security, medicare or medicade. I am sure taht we all agree that we have no problems in how those programs are being managed, funded and run! We need to do a bottoms up review of health insurance. Get the government out of the day to day management. I am responsible for negotiating helath insurance for our company and there are so many state mandates on what must be in an insurance policy it is crazy. Those mandates increase policy costs. Why not a buffett approach to insurance? I want to get elective cosmetic surgery covered it costs so much per month. I want to get erectile disfuction (reptile disfuction as my 5 yr old nephew calls it) covered it costs so much. Ands on and on! Comments? |

HA! Speaking of trophy wives.....where did OHB's wife go (she's a "trophy" in her own mind)? They took her out of the picture or at least told her to stop speaking.
No...to socialized medicine. The least the government is in our business the better off we'll be. Also, we don't need to have more "give away" programs. Illegal aliens....Maricopa County has it right. Find an illegal alien....send him/her home. |

It doesn't take much research to discover the Transparency Act. Obama's been talking about it for a very long time. You obviously were unfamiliar with it. That endeavor ALONE, if allowed to foster to its fruition, could do more about the sorry state of things in Washington than any single legislation to date. You can bet your bottom dollar, however, that he'll get a major fight from this adminstration's holdouts. They've never made a deal that hasn't been under the cloak of secrecy.
I find it hilarious that conservatives are up in arms about a health plan, spouting about how this country can't afford it. If we weren't throwing billions of dollars a day on this mistake of a war, throwing subsidies at trillionaire companies like Exxon and pharmaceuticals, and pissing our money away on worthless programs like NASA, we'd have more than enough money to spurn programs that actually help THE PEOPLE. You want to talk about "give away" programs, look into this administration's ties to these companies, as well as the Halliburtons and Blackwaters. Obama has addressed the Farrakan issue numerous times. There is no connection, nor does he endorse the beliefs of the man. End of story. You simply WANT there to be a story. |

I do not think NASA is such a waste as you might think. Check out teh following link for just a few of teh items spun off from NASA forf public and commercial use.
http://www.gwu.edu/~spi/lifesci.htm I am not up in arms about a health plan, I want something that makes sense but I have heard nothing but soundbites at this time. I tend to be on the conservative side, but I follow that throuh to how I spend and SAVE my earnings. Save first before I spend. I was willing to give up the fun and games taht many folks had when they got out of high school. I got a full time job and worked myself through college over the 6-7 years after I graduated. Then several years latter I made the sacrifice to commit the time and energy to go to grad school and get my masters. I had a lot of friends who were having fun and enjoying life. That was great they made that decision. I made a differenct decision and now, after 30 years of hard work and saving be forced to pay for everyone else who decided it was better to live in the moment instead of thinking about the future. I haev worked very hard and made many toght decsisions and have sacrified to haev what I now have. So why should I NOT be frustrated when we want to tax teh heck out of me? I agree that we do have excesses, but those excesses extend to sport figures who make $20 million a year, actors who get $20 million per picture. Why pick only on busineses taht at least can provide someone a job? |
