1 I'd put any EMT from Lewiston up against any of your SO CALLED paramedics from Atlanta. I'd rather crawl out of Atlanta with the chance of dying before I'd let them touch me. So shut your pie hole! |

1 Personally, it's my belief that all of you are quite capable in giving aid to some-one no matter what service you work for. Because some idiot chooses to bash one of the services don't feel compelled to belittle the other. True there are some who are better then others but most of you have been trained in the same procedures by even the same people. The majority of you care for people and aren't in it for the glory. So,I would like to thank all of you for your time and troubles and let you know we really APPRECIATE it!! |

1 And Brian, it's "seen" not "scene". not everything in the world is a "scene" for you to run lights and sirens to. Figured you would've learned that after you got fired and had to come back this way. |

1 Let it be known that despite all the negative attitude and the hateful demeanor of those in the county and surrounding areas, the employees at Tri-Township will continue to work diligently to provide transfer and 911 service to all people that need it whether they be local citizens or not. Raise no concern about the quality of service you might receive. If the employees of Tri-Township did not consistently meet the required standard of care then the service would have been shut down long ago. As it is, it continues to operate because the employees do as they are trained to do. It's a laughable accusation to point fingers at people smoking in trucks at Tri. I've personally seen people smoking in trucks in Cheboygan, for Allied, Alcona, Oscoda and Lewiston. That really is moot to point fingers about. It happens in every service. You'd be hard pressed to find a service anywhere in the U.S. that has an ambulance in active service that hasn't had a cigarette lit inside it. Same goes for the text messaging. Love to know where you get your information about kids working at Tri. What do you consider kids? Pretty much everyone that works there is over the age of 25? is 25 just a kid to you? under 30? Don't be insulting regarding age just because you're part of an aging generation. There is a new generation under you, and there will always be new young people coming in. You should be thankful there are new, younger people going through training to do this job. Otherwise you old-timers would eventually die off. Your good-ol boy club would fall apart and there'd be no one to hold up your foley cath while you're transferred from stretcher to ER bed. We've been over this in so many posts in the pasts, I'm shocked that people still haven't learned. People, from all services, need to just stop. One of these days, shit is gonna hit the fan and services from across northern Michigan are gonna have to come together. We're all gonna have to put our backs to one another at some point for leverage to get the job done. You can bitch and complain all you want about the skill of people at Tri [or anywhere], but I guarantee you that every employee at every service in this state is deficient in one or more skills. That's why we work in teams, and in response groups. Just because we don't work for the same service, doesn't mean we don't work for the same team. Get it together people. Just because we work at Tri doesn't mean we're the anti-christ. We're here to do a job, just like you. I'm the first to admit that I don't do this job perfectly, and I can always improve my own standard of care. I can always learn more. If you think you know it all, that you never make mistakes doing this job, and there's nothing else for you to learn... it's time for you to retire because you're gonna hurt someone. |

Well Said! As for age issue, it's a proven fact the young learn and retain at a higher rate then OLDER people. The training you people receive is continually upgraded and you ALL need to be re- certified as required by law. The people certifying you don't do it by personalities but by knowledge. If they went by personalities, you Emily Jean, would be S.O.L.! I don't know you but I can read and by what you wrote, that led me to the fore-mentioned conclusion. To base some of your comments on what you "heard" is immature. Wasn't that one of your points, that Tri has immature kids working there? But you know what? I'm still confident that you ALL have been trained to properly treat people and you will do what is necessary. Thank You ALL.

1 That's a true immature statement of it's own. Let's call you and your co-workers adults, which they are fully grown people. I agree "younger" was not the correct word to use in this situation. A MATURE RESPONSIBLE adult would have enough common sense to know that you don't smoke around oxygen or drive any type of vehicle little lone an ambulance going 70 mph down the road tex-messaging. It's dangerous enough talking on the cell phone while driving a car. If Tri/Dan is knowingly letting this go on, Montmorency County Board needs to get rid of Dan before we end up spending more of our $$ in law suits protecting his a.. and get someone in that will enforce the regulations or start hiring MATURE RESPONSIBLE adults that have some common sense. Just maybe this needs to be taken outside Montmorency County! |

First let me say that, "Mr.Concerned", I agree with you. Just because other services do it does not make it ok. My point was that, to try to single out Tri Township as being a bad service simply because you think there are a few who violate DOT regulations, State law and company policy by smoking in the rigs is laughable if you're not willing to also point out that it happens everywhere and is not just a local issue. It's a national issue. I never implied that or clearly stated people smoke in the trucks at Tri. I don't smoke, and those partners I've had that do smoke don't smoke in the trucks that I've seen. All the same, If you're going to point it out though, as stated, be willing to admit that it more than likely happens in your own service. Fix your own house before pointing at the supposed problems in another.
Tell ya what though, it's good to know that people are thinking about us again. Business must be picking back up. The last time we had a big boom in business and income other services were in an uproar. Yup, smells like overtime is just around the corner again. |

RapidDecline,
When and where did you ever see anyone in a Lewiston ambulance smoking. Please let me know so that it can be taken care of. |
