Tanning salon in natchitoches

After reading everyone's input on this matter, I can't figure out what is so hard to understand. The way that Salon Rouge runs their tanning beds is no different than anyone else. And I'm not talking about any other tanning salon in Natchitoches. When you purchase sessions you are not paying for 20 mins each session just because the bed allows for 20 mins. You are paying for the quality of each bed. That is why the 20 min bed sessions are cheaper than a 15 min package. I don't understand why that is so hard to understand. Nobody is being cheated out of money. Call a salon in Alexandria, Shreveport or any where else, and they will tell you the same thing you hear at Salon Rouge.

If you know anything about business a good business man buys in a distressed market and sells in over valued market whether it be stock, realestate, cars and trucks, corn, land, etc. If you consider that taking advantage of the situation, again I am guility, but I am also a good business man. If that makes me a bad person I can live with that.

Sounds like you think you know me pretty well, one thing for sure you do not know me well enough to call me by my last name, my name is Cole not "Lucky". If you want to use personal names on the forum, use Cole. You will not find me hiding behind fancy cloths or screen names, pretending to be someone I'm not. In addition what I do for my daughters is really nobody's business, yours or anybody eles on this forum. They work hard and I will support them as long as they continue to do so.

You are correct this is a forum which allows people to express their views and thoughts (positive or negative) on any subject. Being an uneducated country boy the big problem I have with these forums are people hide behind screen names and talk about families, or indivdual's instead of addressing them one on one when they have an issue. I guess that is why it is called freedom of speech!

Cole earned his money by working his azz off.He's sinking a ton of his own in that club at his own risk.It's something thats also going to benefit the community.Sounds like to me Cole is just a better business man then you.Keep it up Cole!And by the way thats not just the way business in done in Natchitoches thats the way business everywhere.If you don't conduct business in a way to make the best money you can your not in business very long.

Oh my goodness...people can make observations about people conducting business in this or any other community, and yes, while it is business, it is also a reflection on the individuals involved, kin our not. I opting not to purchase for you something at twice the price a while back was my decision. So be it, it's over and glader now than ever I didn't. In hindsight I made a great decision.

Businesses operated by anyone, kin or not, or subject to scrutiny. How you support them or not is your business. Many patrons are happy customers, but not all.

You are respected and appreciated by segments of the community. That is good. And from all reports you have worked hard for your money, and within the boundaries of law, which is expected. I think I went out of my way to say you had done nothing illegal. No one said you can't use this forum to your advantage, but don't get upset if people recognize that you do. Same for purchasing entities in distress.

These things are just the nature of the beast know as Natchitoches.

Quit picking on this family. I think what this hard working man has done with his money is admirable. He could have put his hard earned money in safe annuities which benefited only he and his family. Instead he has made improvements in this town and offered needed services to the public at a risk. He has the sweetest wife who is a good Christian woman. Go find someone else to pick on. This family does not deserve it and like he stated, it is his business what he does for his daughters.

Curious, not picking on a family. You are right...what he does with his money and his family is his business. That does not erase experiences people have with any business in Natchitoches. It was noted that he dealt with a distressed purchase which he acknowledged as a way of doing business which is common. I pointed out that there was nothing illegal about that. Personally my positive interactions with the family businesses have been 2 of 4. I assure you, the percentage will neither increase or decrease for me. My spouse, she is 1 of 3 with the businesses. That percentage will not change too. The family uses the site to promote their endeavors, which was acknowledged. Nothing wrong with that either. The attitude of employees has been noted, and quickly denounced. I have seen both sides of the behavior by the employees. Others, not I have complained about the tanning where they saw what was in their eyes, a deceptive practice....the business responded that there was no deception, only protection. People got to quit being so sensitive. If you have good experiences and want them shared, don't get upset when less than good is shared. But sharing business transaction, and making observations from personal experiences is not "picking" on a family. And of course, when criticisms become "outrageous", legal remedies exist....but reporting the negative and the positive about a business is free speech.

Cole, I am so very proud of your accomplishments and all the wonderful things you did for your Mom and Dad when he was living and now helping and taking care of your Mother. One day I saw your Dad standing in the yard and I stopped and visited with him and all he talked about was his boys and how very proud of you three he was. He talked in depth about you, what you did, your family and your accomplishments. I just wanted to share that with you. You You came from a great loving family. I am not a poster on this website. But I felt I had to after reading yours and your daughters comment. As a old friend of the family I wish you & your family the very best. I started going to Salon Rouge when it was still called Electric Tans. I called many places and chose Electric Tans because the employee I spoke with on the phone was extremely helpful and friendly. Unlike a lot of places, you get a better deal because you can buy tanning by session OR by the month. When the business became Salon Rouge, I started getting my hair and nails done there as well, because of the knowledge, professionalism and friendliness of everyone who works there. Every service and product I have ever purchased from there has been of the highest quality at a very fair price. I have never felt "ripped off." As a matter of fact, I am probably "ripping" them off because I didn't leave that salon until after 9pm one night. That was the only time I could get my hair done, so the owner stayed late and took care of me. This salon is always sparkling clean, there is always someone roaming around cleaning something. The doors to the beds remain open when they are being cleaned, and I have personally witnessed the overly thorough job they do when cleaning them. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Because of the high standards, friendliness and fair prices, I will continue using Salon Rouge as long as they are in business. I would also like to thank the owner and the entire staff for all their hard work!

Iam very dark skinned and I tan at planet beach.And Iam not at all getting what I have in the past.At other salons this is the first time I tan at planet beach.No samples so you can try before you buy and not a big selection of lotions.I think alot of people go because of the look of the place.I have went plenty times when bulbs were out there is no excuse for it and expect you to tan in it.People really to not come out dark.And I feel personally it is exspensive and . Its not that I want to burn my ass.I want what I have payed for its the point.The owner has no right to decide what he wants and nicely take our money with a smile.There is not alot of tanning salons here so he can get away with it.I will try salon rouge at least they came on here has anyone heard from planet beach no because they know they are wrong.But not all planet beaches in other cities do this just Natchitoches I know of.Do you know that is a dollar a minute you are losing add it up.very disappointed.

Eyes on Natchitoches is just a very unhappy, negative, fault finding, gossiping, no good for anything but griping, nosey human being, but that is his/her choice in life.

I am aware of all the businesses owned by your family and all of them seem to be top shelf with both product and service. I believe that the success of those businesses speaks volumes, and out trumps any negative commentary by Eyes.

I cannot imagine Eyes operating a successful business with such a negative attitude.

My spouse tans as a medical treatment for a skin condition, not vanity. The ultraviolet rays reduce help her skin, and more importantly, soothe the pain of her arthritis. Like others, she found the Planet Beach in Natchitoches to be like no other Planet Beach she has used. She reported the lack of sanitation, half lit beds, marketing practices and generally lax conditions in Natchitoches to the manager of the local Planet Beach so visits regularly. The manager shared that she had talked to the regional manager, who told her to share with my spouse that quote, "the Natchitoches people march to a different drummer". The local manager told her that the corporate people consider the Natchitoches operation a joke, a feeling reflected by posters in this forum.

I tan at a place that sells my the minutes. For example, I can buy 100,200,or 300 minutes for a certain amount. I can tan for 10, 15, or 20 minutes, whatever I want to do. I really like this way. Selling by the minutes, rather than the sessions is much better.

I relate to and agree with most of your posts Eyes. People give you a hard time for speaking the truth. You do tell it like it is. Some people take things personally when it is not intended to be personal.

Most people do want to get what they pay for. But there is more money to be made overselling...selling more product than there is product to be had....selling it to you and hoping you want use it all.

I have tanned in south La. and in Houston tx. and in Oklahoma and nothing like this has happened only Natchitoches well Iam telling the truth. The reason they cut the time is to save bulbs I have been told by other places that is why they cut your time down bulbs are very exspensive so if Planet beach cannot afford to replace them then maybe they should let someone take it over that can .Iam not being negitive but money doesnt grow on trees and I cannot waste money it is to hard to come by.If you look on the bed in black and white it tells you by Law how long you can go on the 15 10 and stand up just look on the beds when you go.And the owner is going to tell you different so he can save bulbs .Iam not trying to be mean but I feel I need to speak up we are not stupid .But its been going on for so long they think they can just keep on screwing us .I notice alot of college people go there do you have the extra money just to waste its alot when you add it up and if the Law and state says it okay .Why does planet Beach say its not and Natchitoches Planet Beach has been the first I have tanned for years and never heard the excuse of having to wait is why you cannot tan the whole time how lame is that.If they would start losing customers they would change maybe.Get someone that can afford new bulbs Iam not paying to go into a bed where the bulbs are out especially a face tanner and they have been saying for a month they were going to fix the problem.Will never use them again or tell someone to go.Speak up this is not gossip I Know for a fact.

I have been tanning at Salon Rouge since they opened and I have never had a problem with them. I don't tan easy and the first time I went I could tell a difference. I think all the girls in there are very nice, they speak everytime I walk in. I will continue to tan there.
