Tanning salon in natchitoches

[Planet Beach]

Look out people that go to planet beach it looks nice .but bed number five goes to 15 minutes but you only get 10 minutes because owner doesnt want to let customers go the right aamount of time.His excuse is people would have to wait to long.We are not getting what we are paying for and the 10 minutes are really 12 minutes look on the beds it says it on them.He is trying to save bulbs at our exspense.He charges us high and then doesnt want to give us our time.I will not use them again.15 minutes is a big difference from 10 and it doesnt matter give us what we are paying for.Please speak up or nothing will happen he will keep on ripping us off.

Not trying to be facticious this time, but a serious question (on a less than serious topic). Is "time" a unit of measure handled by the state bureau that handles weights and standards?

It is not just them. They all do and will not roll your mins. over. I know someone that Salon Rouge did that to. Those girls in there are so rude and need to grow up. Vern here,Verneeta wanted one of those spray on tans for the family reunion but when we saw how much they were,hell old Vern went down to wal-marts and spent 99 cents on a can of krylon.It even said it right there on the can TAN.And it last alot longer then the expensive stuff too.And I sprayed her down right there in the front yard.

Watching, Be careful you are talking about Country Club money! You obviously don't appreciate the company you temporarily join as you partake of the privilage of their presence....and you dare expect what you pay for and the place to be clean too? I think what you have said is that the "Natchitoches attitude" has found a home in Salon Rouge too.

What are Planet Beach spray tans like? Has anyone had one of theirs?

I've had a spray tan from there. Did it 3 times and couldn't tell a significant difference. Wasn't worth the money for me. I am now under contract with them for tanning and have been going many times per week in the last 3 months and don't feel as though I am getting as dark as I should. I wonder if they don't change their bulbs or what's the deal?

The girls at Planet Beach don't pay attention to what they are doing. They book appts for the wrong time and have forgotten to turn the beds on more than once, which is aggravating once you've gotten undressed then have to put your clothes back on to ask them to turn it on. And the beds are very hot, yet I don't feel like I'm getting the tan I want, even though I go regularly.

It seems to me you have beef with someone there and really are trying to get at them. I personally love that salon and think the staff is super friendly and spunky.
AS A MATTER OF FACT.... SALON ROUGE IS NOT INSPECTED BY THE NATCHITOCHES HEALTH DEPARTMENT THEIR INSPECITIONS COME OUT OF SHREVEPORT. SMARTASS! GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.
As far as I know daddy owns the building and is strictly the landlord!

Watching.....I warned you! I told you that was Country Club money talking.... The help doesn't have an attitude towards you, they are spunky! And how dare you not know jurisdictional boundaries for the inspecation of tanning beds and facilities.

Like I say, I call them as I see them, and the Lucky family and their minions use this forum for self-promotion of their endeavors (i.e. free advertisement) and to attack anyone not supporting their cause.

i have been spray tanned in planet beach and it lasted a while and i didnt like any of the girls in there.. i use salon rouge and right before i go in the room to tan they clean the bed... and they are all very nice..

Sorry to disagree with you. I know the fathers family. I also know that the father has worked very hard all of his life and has returned to Natchitoches and bought properties as an investment. I certainly don't see how anyone can find fault with a person that has worked since a young age, made money and invested it back in his hometown. I find it totally admirable. I've never met his children nor his wife but I have always respected him. He has been a good son. That I know for a fact.

Lucky is a business man. You are right, he has worked hard. No problem with that. He has sought to profit from distressed sales,like the country club. Nothing illegal about that. I have had an encounter with him, and he and another tried to profiteer off of me. I was not in a distressed situation and I didn't go for the offer, but doesn't mean he wasn't a party to the action. No illegal behavior...just wasn't the most honorable encounter with a business people I have seen in my life. I understand him wanting to help his daughters, make money, get free advertising, and have a return on his investments, and yes use his influence for personal gain. That is not evil, just the way business is done in Natchitoches.

So I hear from a friend today that my Salon had some false information being said on this forum so I get on to see what the fuse is all about so here I am to set some things straight...This is the daughter herself that owns Salon Rouge. For starters I am not out to rip people off. The tanning packages are as is... They are sold by sessions or month just as anywhere else. And if a tanner comes in and buys a 20 min bed package they are going to lay in a 20 min bed. But out of concern for the client we do not recommend them tan the full 20 min. the FIRST time or so because I actually have NEW bulbs in my beds and allow the FULL time on all the beds, so therefore the client would burn more easily. I have personally had several clients come back burned and very aggravated at me for allowing them to tan the full 20 min. So out of concern for my clients I suggest an appropriate time for the client to stay and they can choose rather to do it or not. If they insist on doing the full 20 min. by all means we will let them. But when they come back whinning bacause they got burnt I have no sympathy because we try to prevent that. The bottom line is that they are only sold by the sessions, we just are trying to look out for the best interest of our clients by offering a reasonable amount of time for them to lay starting out, but with that being said they are ALLOWED to tan the full time if they desire to. Any person who has tanned knows that it is miserable to burn and would much rather work their way up to a tan. But for anyone inquiring about tanning I would welcome you to come try it out. I believe I have a really friendly staff, the bulbs are new, the beds are ALWAYS clean, and I allow the full exposure time on the beds. I sell them by the sessions or by the month. I have 12 min, 15 min, 20 min beds, and 9 min stand up. Which all give great results. And if you personally have a problem with something in my Salon please come and tell me and I would be glad to address the problem right then. Instead of you people who want to get on here and throw out negative remarks but hide behind a screen name and have no idea what your talking about!!
And just a little FYI I am inspected by someone other than the Health Dept. so get your information straight before you get on here saying things that are not true. And my beds are cleaned TWICE after every tanner. As well I have someone who cleans my salon daily, so again... FALSE information.
And another thing that I would like to set the record straight about is that my dad does own the building but just as any renter I PAY rent. I am cut no slack because its my dad, nore is my siser cut any slack. It would be NO different if someone else owned the building. The only advantage we have is that one day what we are paying rent on will someday be ours to own. To me it just sounds like there are people on this forum who are jealous or envy what my dad has. And all I can say to you people who want to get on here and bad mouth "the Lucky's", is... work as hard as my dad has for many years and make sacrafices like he has being away from his family to try and provide for us, and then you might could have some room to talk or bad mouth us for trying to be successfull! Why is that someone always has to trash the people who are trying to do good for themselves. To me these are just personal attacks that people have towards my family. Because it's obvious someone knows too much personal information about us. And honestly, if you have personal problems with us then thats fine, but that has nothing to do with our businesses and the way we run them. I just encourage anyone to come in and try the salon out for themselves instead of taking judgement off of this forum because it seems to me there are MANY FASLE statements on here!

Just because the personal experiences of an individucal does not align with the instruction you have given us on how things are in your eyes does not mean the other person's perception of there experience is false.

A pronouncement by a person that something someone else said is false, does not make the denouncement truth.

If someone purchases twenty minutes of a service and then is told they only need get a part of what they have been sold, they feel they have been oversold, unless they get to use the service later. They feel deceived. Even though they are being protected by the suggestion that they not burn their skin, they still feel slighted.
Just because it has been announced that the staff are friendly, that doesn't make it so. My direct, personal observations at Salon Rouge, at times I have been treated great, other times like crap. Observing the staff, I have seen some customers treated great, others blown off like they didn't matter. These are direct in person experiences, and if you don't agree, well that does not make them false....and by the way, I did return to the place after a bad experience, giving a second chance to the business, figuring someone had a bad day. In a public forum like this, good experiences and bad experiences will be shared, not to mention those seeking to self-promote and competitors seeking to damage its competition.

Good luck in your endeavors. Treat people right, do a good job, work hard and take advantage of the cards you have been dealt and success will likely follow. Exploit people and the situation, bare claws when folks see things differently and share their reality, well what happens happens.
