This town is controlled by some of the most prejudiced and bigoted people in Louisiana. Natchitoches will never reach its true potential untill these men are removed from office. With a black population of 53% the transition is bound to happpen sooner or later. What will be the fate of Natchitoches when this happens. Will the whites in the town be treated as the blacks have been mistreated in the past?

Detroit, New Orleans, Washington D.C., Gary, Flint, Camden, East St. Louis. All examples of what happens when you elect a leader on the basis of race. Although I'm sure Natchitoches would somehow be an exception...

To heck with race! If Mr. Stelly is the best candidate, vote for him. If Mr. Posey is the best candidate, vote for him. If Mr. Bernard is the best candidate, vote for him. If Mrs. Morrow is the best candidate, vote for her.

If you vote for (or against) a candidate solely on the basis of race, you have no business voting at all.

Normally I would agree with you. Race should not be a factor. Pineville has a black mayor who is tremendous. How do you account for the failure of all of the other cities with white mayors? The white faction of this town throws a little money at the down and out minorities and win. Morrow is the worst of the lot. She puts her own self interest above the interest of the town and her race. I do like what I see in Posey and would consider him. When the Election Commissioner announced the absentee votes a couple election back don't you think that was a all-call to the whites in the town to vote for Wayne? Whoever is elected next time needs to be a native of Natchitoches! Not Claiborne or Webster skin heads!
