Can you believe it?! Those PETA bastards are at it again! This time they want to take away BOWHUNTING from us!!! It seems that my beloved pasttime is "cruel and inhumane" because of the accuracy and skill needed for an instant kill. Of course, they'd prefer for ALL forms of hunting to be taken away from us, but they're targeting bowhunters first. If you are as outraged as I am, I strongly urge you to call your local congressman or alderman and let them know that our freedom to kill animals will NOT be taken by a bunch of pencilnecked soy eaters!!!

Is there a link to the article?

Bow hunting is the only a REAL sport because it DOES take such skill and accuracy. Any nimrod can hide in a blind and shoot a gun. Damn those animal rights activists. They can have their Tofu. It's not like bow hunters are running around willie nillie aiming for anything that moves, leaving dead carcasses around. Even the drunks I know of hunting bring their kill home to eat. What do these hippie tree hugging freaks think hunters are doing that is so wrong?

If they want to ban hunting, how about go for the pansy ass wanna be rich MFs who "hunt" big game that is let loose from a cage?(Or does that really happen in the real world? I saw it on a movie ;-)

Wounding and crippling losses are inevitable. Studies indicate that for every deer killed
by bowhunters at least one or more is hit and not recovered, compared to deer shot by
gun where only one out of 14 shots is not recovered. The average bowhunting
wounding rate is 54%; the average shots per kill are 14. According to the Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources 14,744 deer were killed in 2002 by bowhunters.
Of these deer, 2,528 were fawns. All these animals endured prolonged suffering before
they collapsed and died.

but hell...its more fun than going to the grocery store....

Jeez...you people make me sick!

The PETA types are whacked!
Are they all vegetarians? Why focus on one way of killing an animal, or on only one animal? Do they sit down for dinner and discuss the sad state of animal affairs while eating meat? Where do these people live? NeverLand? Where do they think the meat from the grocery store comes from? Turnips? Some don't blink an eye at abortions, but they lose sleep over hunting? And yes, I did cry when Bambi's mother died. I would think that the money from archery sales and license not only help the economy but help to regulate and enforce reasonable hunting laws. A ban on bow hunting would prohibit thousands of law abiding, responsible sportsmen and their children from engaging in a time honored tradition.

*** I am a wife and mother of game hunters and I approve this message.

I have a deer head hanging in my house that was killed by my husband who is an excellent bowhunter. The year he killed it it was ranked to be the 2nd largest deer killed that year in La. by a bowhunter. I'm sure not all the deer killed are measured but of the ones that were that year it was ranked 2nd. He is very proud of that buck and he should be. Most bowhunters are very skilled at it and this shouldn't be taken away from them. While I'm not a hunter myself I do get widowed to it during hunting season so I hear quiet alot about it. Yes I'm sure there are some that are wounded that are not found but a true hunter puts forth every effort to find their deer. I know my hubby will search for hours if need be. There is alot of time and effort (not to mention cost)that goes into hunting and most hunters don't just leave their efforts behind. They also see it as putting food on the table for their families. What my husband kills we eat, it not just a sport to kill as some of you may think.

I am a vegetarian and am NOT a supporter of PETA. Those people are nuts! If I were to change my mind and eat meat it would be meat that WAS hunted, not farm raised. I have no problem with the killing of animals for food, I just disapprove of "factory farms," which I seriously doubt are anywhere near here. PETA put out merchandise telling kids that if their father fished, he might kill their puppies. The don't want you to get rid of bugs in your homes. Apparently roaches are just as important as humans, who knew? It would be great to see the organization gone. It makes people like me look like fruitcakes.

Could someone please post a Bill number or an artical conferming this proposed legislation. I can't go off on anyone until I know this isn't just some red-herring.

Wonder how many deer are killed crossing the highways every year. Who's fault is that? The driver? the state? Let's blame PETA, they shoulda told them deer to stay outa the road.

For someone who spouts off about so many political topix, you sure don't seem to have much of a clue as to how a bill comes to be. What, you never watched Schoolhouse Rock as a kid? We're still in the early stages of petitioning and organizing protests, so be paitent. I assure you that once we generate enough signatures we will take the next step and approach a lawmaker to propose a bill banning the brutal "sport" of bowhunting.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
