The problem with this action is that things are literally added/removed minutes before a vote is taken. That's no way to make major decisions. We can assume all small businesses (less than 500K) will drop any coverage they have, so that will add people to the gov't rolls. 8% of payroll for larger business may be cheaper than what they are paying now. If so, then those people will be dumped into the system. Business taxes will increase to cover these costs, so it may be a reasonable trade off for them. As taxes increase, the cost of goods increase and WE, once again, PAY.

There is nothing wrong with health care for everyone. The problem is that the Congress does not have the authority under the Constitution to enact a law that mandates it.

So shut-up thats the way it will be you and I and the second coming Mr.Obama know it aswell. The majority of the people who can't pay rent WORK! It's the working poor making mimium wage at two jobs that qualify for assistance. When are people going to wake up! I really could understand the arguement against healthcare IF we were getting better results even if our system cost us more? At prsent we are spending more and we are not even in the top ten countries claiming healthier people and better results. People who are single men, women. black, brown, white, whatever DOES NOT get a check from the Federal govt. because they don't work. That is simply a false statement. I'm tired of hearing "I'm working and paying for all those lazy bums to sit at home drawing welfare." Only women with children get temporary assistance IF they are going to school or looking for work. After a certain time they are cut off. Clinton reformed welfare! It's only about $300.00 a mt. hardly enough to survive. Most men not working or simply doing without or living off relatives or women. A lot are selling drugs or working jobs for cash. Some people have been deemed disabled by a Physician which automatically qualifies them for social security based on earning they pd. in or if they don't have enough quarters they can draw off a spouse or if their under 21 when they were disabled they can draw off a parent. If they have none of the above to qualify they will get S.S.I. which is about 650.00 a mt. As for healthcare tax payers already pays the tab for the uninsured in many ways their not aware of. Private insurance has the authority to drop you, not pay claims etc. and somehow people are okay with this? Medicare is the primary insurance now for many of the elderly and disabled and they have the power to mandate what they will cover and what they expect from providers. Their has always been certain things private insurance and medicare will not cover. This is nothing new. Medicare fraud is easy becasue they pertty much rubber stamp every claim providers submitt. They do send beneferaries a statement showing who they pd. and if you disagree you need to notify medicare. Medicare puts trust in their providers and delegates the medicare recipent to a large extent to police it if you will. Private insurance compaies trust no one and consisder it a loss when they have to pay a claim. In fact they spend a good portion of your premium money paying people to do just that. Plus they spend alot on advertisement, CEO's, etc. Has anyone noticed your premiums have increased, but has your wages? I'm not against Insurance companies, I'm not against goverment but I am against wastre and injustice. People who are leaning to far to the right or left need to see that their is two side to this issue and the solution is in the middle. Physicians in other countries do not have debt when they get out of medical school, they also have addressed tort reform and malpatrice insurance is low. Many countries pay Doctors based on outcomes which is good for the patients and many Physicians have done well in other countries financially. To answer the question What is wrong with everone having insurance? As you've seen people will answer in differnt ways based on their ideology. The jury is still out in my opinion. I feel we will pass health reform in this Administration. Ten years from now we will know if it was the right thing to do.

Sorry Rain King, you need to read and understand The Federalist Papers in order to properly apply the "General Welfare" clause. As such, Congress does not have the enumerated power to force the people to purchase (or go to jail) health care insurance.

Maybe some of us good old boys should start showing up at these protests to kinda even out the odds a little bit. A little attitude adjustment might work wonders for those union idiots.
