NOTHING IS FREE, darlin! The "haves" will still be paying for the "have nots" but on a much larger scale! Taxes will go up and the workin man will once again be expected to carry the load........those who do much of nothing, and expect the government to take care of them will simply have another excuse to sit on their asses with another feather in their no-good for nothing caps!

They should take the money being poured into this endeavor and invest it in improving our VA Hospitals, create better guidelines for existing hospitals, and improve the Medicare System.......so that the working men and women of this world can actually reap the benefits of their hard work when they need it! The rest of it should be spent training those who want to go to work to do so, and then to build more prisons to house those who don't! We make it way too easy for people to do NOTHING and get EVERYTHING in return....where's it going to end?!?!?!?

Let's see here, we've got unemployment exceeding 10%. We've got no increase in social security benefits for this year and next. We're facing $500 million cuts in Medicare as passed by the house. We've got floundering indecision about Afghanistan. We've got a health care proposal that, absent three favorable votes, doesn't get passed by a heavily Democratic house of representatives. If a previous administration presented this as their record of achievement, they would be laughed out of power.

What's wrong with health care for everyone? Last time I checked, few people in this country are denied basic health care.

The focus on the debate about healthcare has been intentionally shifted away from the actual issue which is, who pays for it, and toward a false assumption that access to health care is being denied to people.

Few people believe that people should be denied basic health care.

A lot of people, likely a majority of people, believe that expanded government is not the solution to the problems of this society. I believe that the government is the problem.

Want to resolve some of the problems with the health care system, hire doctors, nurses, and other medical support personnel at reasonable salaries to work at public health facilities where those without medical insurance can pay smaller fees for services. Help students in the medical field pay the exhorbitant costs of medical school in exchange for requiring that they work for a time at such a public health facility.

2. It is going to bankrupt the United Stated.

It will give the governmetn th "right" to control every facet of our lives in teh name of health care. the governmetn will control teh food we consume, the thermostat setting in the house, no guns in teh house as they are a threat to health, etc., etc., etc.

3 it will be a monumental failure. There are a number of doctors that are going to stop practicing medicine - several have told me so. Given the "free" nature of the proposed health care there will be so many patients that it will overload the number of doctors.

Come on man do you really believe that doctors are going to quit the profession that they dedicated so much time and money into? Then what are they gonna do, work at Wal-Mart?

Doctors will become government workers, just like teachers and those at the DMV. They will have NO control over their fees or salary. Motivation and incentive will drop, they will be in no hurry. I think they will practice to the best of their ability, but will not go out of their way because they will not get paid for it.

It takes years to become a doctor and it cost over $200,000 to go to medical school. Why do you want to work for what someone who goes to school for 4 years and make the same? Many students are reevaluating the situation and deciding not to go to medical school. We definitely will have a shortage of doctors if the government reduces doctors' income.
