i knew scott from working with him at the village in in derby. he always seemed like a good kid, but he did make some bad choices before. i never thought he would be involved with a crime like this. i saw him late sunday night, after the superbowl, at the village inn. we didnt talk much, but it was obvious that he was drunk. it is sad to hear about the death of brandon miller, and my prayers go out to his family.

hi
Oh man another one. So many victims The accused in this case probably have similar stories to tell. They just always seem to get younger Wonder where the gun came from? The whole concept of packin heat that kids have applies here again it looks like. I knew the father of a kid (17)that was given a hard 40 sentence in sedgewick county a few yrs ago for following the lead and playing along when the day was done a child had been killed,so many victims. Remember the story I told about the kids on the city bus? change a few names "same story" I have great sympathy for ALL the families. Mento a kid it makes a difference. Rick |

I Knew 2 of the people that are being accused of this crime and i think that it is really sad. I think that it is even harder to imagine that someone you knew, could have done something like this. My heart goes out to the family of Brandon Miller as i could not imagine if something happened to one of my own kids. I hope that people learn and change things around in their lives before it is too late like in this case!

hi
"I hope that people learn and change things around in their lives before it is too late like in this case!" agreed. I,m sorry for my typos sometimes...I meant MENTOR Remove the access these kids have to our guns. When will it "not" be the "in" thing to bring a gun to a fistfight? Rick |

This was such a shock to me. I think about it all the time because it's so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that someone I knew so well was actually killed by someone else I knew really well. Brandon was a great guy mixed up in all the wrong things. Our 8th grade year he had a HUGE crush on me and I remember him coming over to my house all the time, sitting on the kitchen counter and giving everyone a lesson on weed. My dad called him the "weedologist". He was such a great guy. I think honestly it's better to remember the good times with him.. like having Chelsea's mom Sonja drive us to Brandon's house and TP it.. several times. For anyone who knows him you know that the big tree in his front yard was perfect for Tping! I swear we did it every weekend and one night he even came out to help us. LOL. His room was easy recognizable too.. the kid had apparently never heard of curtains.. he had aluminum foil in his window. I loved going to Brandon's to hang out.. we would always go over to his neighbors house and hang out downstairs. I can't remember his neighbors name though..?
Or how about the time he totally drove through that persons fence and into their shed? LOL that was the funniest thing ever! It was awful going to his funeral because during highschool we had lost touch and I felt like I hardly knew the person that was killed because he had changed his life so dramatically. I remember seeing Maile at the funeral.. she was devastated. He was such an amazing person to stand up for her and try and get her the money she needed for her baby. I was also good friends with Scott. Anyone who went to Derby probably knows about all the parties that took place at my house. They were sometimes way out of control, but they were always fun! Brandon and Scott used to come over all the time to hang out. It just amazes me how things can change in one night. I guess the point of me writing all of this is to state the obvious.. High school should be a time you want to remember and shares stories about. If you get mixed up in all the wrong things it won't be an experience you will want to or even be able to remember. I'm so proud of Brandon for getting his life turned around. I just hope Michael and Scott will do the same. I miss you Brandon! <3 Hollie |
