County must form a panel for all big projects

There are 2 comments on the The Indianapolis Star story from Jul 27, 2007, titled County must form a panel for all big projects. In it, The Indianapolis Star reports that:

Suzi J. Clark of Noblesville said her property taxes just went up 25 percent. She knows her wages won't climb that high to make up the difference, so she believes something needs to be done to address taxes.

I think the "idea" of this board is good but, those that make up the membership will simply be part of the current system and turn out to be just another rubber stamp.
If you think this will change things, just re-read Ditslear's comments. They'll find a way around it to remove the remotest chance of a denial (which won't occur).
A Referendum vote every May and November would allow the citizens of each community to decide for themselves. It also allows the boards to know what's approved every 6 months or so. Remember, Noblesville citizens don't pay for Carmel schools and vice-versa. So, let the citizens vote in privacy, without disclosing their identity and you'll see real change.

This seems to be just another facet of the "smoke and mirrors" we've come to expect from our politicians! Quit wasting our time and money on this type of political stunt. Approve the Referendum and do away with this joke.

if ditslear is willing to publicly say he's worried carmel will dominate this board, then how does anyone ever expect cooperation on a regional scale. isn't that a proposal on the list of ways to get taxes down?
turf wars and egos continue to get in the way of good government. shame cause the money their fighting over isn't theirs.
egos and kingdoms rule in hamilton county.
