Has anyone heard anything from Mayor Franklin? I have seen interviews with officials from the Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's and Convention Bureau. It was even left up to Spurgeon Richardson (Chairman of the Visitor's and Convention Bureau) to declare the city "open for business". Isn't that Franklin's job? Where is she? You can bet if there was a story about some pie-eyed nonsense like streetcars or the beltline then she would be running her mouth.

I just have to say that I'm really upset about the closing of the Peachtree Center MARTA station. I use this station on a daily basis and am wondering who decided that everyone else's saftey was important, but the individuals who use that station had to walk on the streets anyway, jepordizing themselves with falling glass. Ridiculous and quite frankly, completely irresponsible on the City's part, and on MARTAs part.

Honestly, I don't think everything has been handled perfectly. But they are doing the best they can under the circumstances. Sure, some of what has been done, like closing the Marta station, may seem stupid. However, Atlanta's first tornado is unlike any crisis since Sherman's march.
So please cut them some slack.
