I am working on family tree. My grandfather is Alexander George Harrington. He was recruited in military at age of 25 yrs in British Columbia, Canada. He wrote down his father A G Harrington, from Rural Retreat, Virginia USA as next of kin. His place of birth is Ell Creek, Virginia USA. Religion - Methodist. DOB January 2, 1892. I may be wrong, but Im thinking instead of his place of birth being Ell Creek, Va, it is probably Elk Creek. That is not too far from Rural Retreat(Wythe County}. I do not know of any Harringtons in Wythe Co. but that doesnt mean that there are none. Elk Creek is the next county over which is Grayson Co. Good luck on the family tree!

I know of a Harrington that lives in Rural Retreat. Her name is Jackie (probably Jaqualine) and she is about 24 years old. HTH
