Booing his selfish decision IS booing him. The Boy Scouts have done MORE to bring a sense of honor and civility to many generations, they should have been honored with a personal visit by the egotistical, agenda driven, anti US, occupant of the white house. I would take his decision as an insult. He seems to enjoy insulting anything having to do with TRADITIONAL US values and customs.

this is the worst president ever....he is well intentioned but inexperienced....the kids fell for him and thought he was a rock star...they rejected the old man McCain..he was not cool.. did not know how to text....he did know how government works and Obama did not and here we are in year of the new depression and the headlines today that the economy is worsening...that did not stop Obama and pals from sending billions to rescue the teachers unions....they need them in November...but that is our money and would be better spent putting us to work on public projects or whatever.....he is our first affirmative action president and we are learning that affirmative action is fine for college admission, but not for running a country

No excuses. A scout is Courteous. This was unscoutlike, shameful conduct.

Obama opting for "The View" rather than meet at the 100th Anniversary of the BSA is not a surprise. The President is a mediamaniac who loves to hob-nob with those who fawn, flirt an flaunt a liberal, progressive agenda.
The BSA is steeped in traditional values of honor ethics and integrity. In this age of troubled youth, gang violence, teenage pregnancy, fatherless homes, domestic violence, the BSA is one refuge in a storm. Obama has done nothing to try and shape the direction and lives of at-risks youths. Obama is a BOZO that deserved the Boos and hisses, however, I feel badly that it was this way that the boys showed their dismay. The scout leaders perhaps should have refocused the boys' attention on writing a mass letter-writing campaign to the President to voice their disappointment.

The President should have addressed the assembly focusing on the impact of the group's ongoing discrimination against homosexuals.

You are correct. A Scout is Courteous, which is why I took the opportunity to apologize in my letter on behalf of those who booed. As I stated the booing was in the minority, greatly overshadowed quite quickly by the cheering for the Commander in Chief from the boys.

They should boo this poor excuse for a president. The man ran a fraudulent campaign filled with lies. The liberals in this country are destroying everything we fought and died for. Apologizing to Japan? Is this guy for real? He is a disgrace

Try watching something other than Fox News. There was never a suggestion of an apology, other than by right wing pundits who categorize a visit by an ambassador as an apology.

On Fox and Friends Saturday, a panel was set up to advance the right wing claim that President Obama was going to apologize for the bombing of Hiroshima. However the real bomb was dropped when former Bush Ambassador to Japan Thomas Schieffer destroyed the network’s claim,“It certainly was not an apology, and I think he will not issue an apology.”

The former Bush ambassador to Japan said,“I went to Hiroshima. Howard Baker my predecessor, went to Hiroshima."

So Mr. Good, if a visit is an apology, it has already occurred under a Republican administration.

The Scouts don't need anyone to speak for them. They booed the president for a reason; he blew them off. Obama went to The View because he can get a sympathetic media reception in a controlled environment. A free speech forum does not fit Obama's needs.

The reaction of the Boy Scouts to the video tells the story:

I would guess that few, if any, people know that Obama has been refusing to sign the traditional letters of congratulations to new Eagle Scouts that have been sent by every other president for decades.

See, the fact of the matter is that Obama is not, in his heart, a true American. He was not raised to be patriotic, and there is no way he understands all-American institutions like the Boy Scouts. He is a globalist, and wants us all to be citizens of the world, which is why he campaigned in Europe during the election.

It's very sad to have an anti-American president. Congratuations on your 100th anniversary, Boy Scouts of America!

TRADITIONAL US values include slavery, lack of voting for women, lack of civil rights. You want those traditional values back? PROGRESS is a traditional value, too, and it includes making life better for US citizens, including the 11% of those who are gay. Get over it.
