Are Californians The Root Of Idaho's Evils?

Well put "Our Town" There are a lot of things I like about Idaho. Thants why we moved here 11 months ago and find it a good fit for us.
As so many of us have stated, growth is going on everywhere. Unless people stop breeding, its just gonna get worse. The Califoria of my youth is long gone. Change happens. I didn't like it much, but there were a few good things that came along with it.
I wish people could be kinder to each other. Personally, I have not had many people say negative things to my face about moving here. A few jokes yes, but overall, they are just kidding around. In fact most of them moved here from somewhere else. Lots of them are former Californian's themselves, or have family that live there. So as far as I'm conserned, we are all Americans and have the right to live where we want.
Someone mentioned all the kids from California that are on the Broncos football team. Well that is true. Another more somber fact is, there are a lot of Californians dying for our country every week. Just read the column in the paper. Two of my friends have sons serving right now. One in the 82nd Airborne and one is a Navy Corpsman. I have offered to help them both find a job in Idaho when they get out.
I love America and did my time in the service as well. While I served, I met guys from all over this Country. I found that I liked them all. They were my brothers and they deserve to live wherever they want.
As for people in general. Overall, I don't care what color they are. What Religion they are or where they came from as long as they are decent good folks.
I'll get off my box now, but remember, be nice to each other you never know when you'll need someones help. Maybe even an "Evil Californian" will be the one that gives you a hand.

I'm a 4th generation native Idahoan. That's long enough to be a true native : ). I really like seeing boise grow into a more metropolitan area. I hate seeing the foothills being ravaged though. Why can't the growth go more towards the owyhee's... I don't mind the new people much either as long as they catch on to our way of life real quick. Obviously you can't move here and act 100% like you did in california. Even though it is still the USA there are many differences. Some that come here are true assholes, and some Idahoans are assholes to the nOObs without giving them a chance either. It's a 2 way street.

I ended my post too soon.. Seriously, was that guy who cut his wife's head off and drove around Nampa with it in his car, Californian? Was that girl who made up the fake story about being raped in Boise, Californian?

I think no matter what we do, and no matter where we go, we are going to run into cruddy people. I have been in Idaho since I was one year old, grew up in Nampa, graduated in Nampa. I just don't see the rude Californian influence??? I meet new people who are so happy to be here and I see tons of progress that never was here until until the 1990's.

I read an article on line that says the family farm has been disappearing since the 1930's, and I agree with it. Even in the 1980's, before the Californians invaded, the Red Steer turned into a Jack in the Box. The cool forest we had on 12th Avenue Road turned into a Mountain States Tumor Institute. Where did Bulldog Bowling Lanes go? Remember when there was a haunted house on the same property that the Walmart on 12th Avenue was built on. I shop at that Walmart almost every day of the week. Did Californians do this? Wait... I have a great one. Remember Dairy KING!!! I used to hang out there every day after school at Nampa High for the best french fries and fry sauce you could ever have for a buck! What's there now, a SUBWAY. Does a Californian own that Subway? Damn Him! ha ha.

When you live so close to a bigger city (Boise, the capital) you have to expect that the cities will eventually grow into each other. We have a semi-metropolitan area here. I think Idahoans enjoy it more than they like to let on. There are a TON of very rural areas still here.

I'm not going to lie and say I miss Nampa being super small but come on people! Life is too short. Check out my photos and you will see that we are all going to be ok.

And I'm still on the look out for these crazy Californians that everyone is talking about ;)

Anyone out of state acts a little different... When I lived in portland, oregon i realized the coastal corridor is much more liberal, environmentally conscious, artsy, etc. They act different as a majority. A stereotypical Californian may be classified a little like the o.c./laguna beach type. The plastic surgery/materialistic thing. Obviously that is a smaller percentage than one would even like to think, but maybe you get my point a little bit. I believe another way to say this is the whole state has the small town feel, where you know a lot of people or at least most are friendly. Californians have more of an urbanized feel, and are more distant/less social with neighbors or everyday people.

after i have now read your last post i'm taking this more as a personal attack. I never said that the californians are ruining our state. I said they need to remember we have a few of our customs. Who doesn't love boise's growth deep down inside? I tell my grandfather how much i like it even though it spites him. Maybe you could compare it to a person who moves to our country and never learns our language. Just an attempt is fine with me. I don't care if your from another state, just show me that you care a little bit about where you are now...

Well, you can thank the "Evil Californian's" for polluting your air! It seems as though all the smoke from the fires back there has finally reached Idaho.
I wonder if people in Wyoming and Montana feel that way when fires burn here and the smoke blows over there, Or when rich Idahoan's move there after selling out here, driving up their housing costs and ruining their way of life.
Hopefully, they will learn a few of their customs like roping or sheep hearding, so they fit in better.
Take for example, the Annual Bull Ball eating festival in Eagle. As much as I'd like to be part of my local festivities, inspite of stereotypical views of Californian's, I just don't have ball eating capacity like many of the Trasure Valley Natives... Guess I'll have to settle for a Hawks game and a Hotdog...

those people that lve in Oregon,are transplants from Ca. they fled Ca. in the 1970s and the Oregoneans hated them to...there realestate prices went up also...he he he....funny how history repeats itself....and the Ca. in Ca. can be elitest and hate newcomers movin into the state..but now they need the revenue cause all there cheap labor illegal aliens donot PAYtaxes even though they use the services lol....and the beat goes on......can the "Terminator save them.....?And member WHAT happens in Cali...will happen elsewhere so i would suggest ya'll make the best of it cause your all in "it together now.......WOWWWWWW its a lot of "California dremmin.......listen to the words ...closely

Interestingly enough there are Minorities in Idaho- Mostly though- they are displaced peoples from other lands that are adopted in kind of an effort to appear to be doing God’s work by helping the less fortunate- these poor folks for the most part are just Trophy-Charity examples of a culture that preaches love with a closed fist!

What kind of a human being gets excited about killing an animal?

Now Butch has this belt Buckle that he likes to wear which if scrapped and recycled would probably support a nice area for wolves to live and play.

They like to call the victims of all the years of toxic dust from the Nevada Nuclear test sites “down winders” because the radiation pretty much permeated into the soil and everything consumed for the last few decades- the people from California like to refer to the Idaho Natives as “Brown Necker’s”– they have their heads buried so deep into the Political & Religious Super-egos that they are more childlike then adult. You get into too many “Bush is God” mentality around here and you know that’s just brainwashing without using any Soap!

Oh well, I don’t mean to disillusion you, but the pay is sh*t, in this State- there really is no type of Public Support or assistance for the needy because the thinking in Idaho, Utah, Montanan, Wyoming is pretty much the same “hurry for us and screw you!”

Listen folks there is nothing that Idaho has to offer that can’t be found elsewhere in a State with a conscience- the thin is people-

I have met some very decent Human Spirits in Idaho. For the most part the Natives that have lived somewhere else on this little Blue Marble.

Hey it was a lark anyway, I thought that it would be more friendly, but where Californian’s are able to live due to their hard work and sure pluck of the draw, the locals have had their noses rubbed in the fact that they have been living in an oppressed political & spiritual (and worst of all Monetarily). They resent people pulling into a Home they cash for, and their three year old kid has a vocabulary greater then the Idaho Govenor- and sure as heck has a kinder heart.

When we first moved into this Valley Gas was .45-50 cents cheaper then the West Coast due to the "Extra Refining" that California's Gasoline goes through. I used to think it was BS until I started getting behind some of the Vehicles here and could tell I was being poised by the exhaust (locals don't notice it- they are all ready cerebral Challenged. Well someone bought the ONLY importer of the Gasoline and guess what? It’s now HIGHER then most places.

Let’s summarize something here just so the feeblest of mentalities can grasp it’s concept.

Bill Sali= A joke with more power then someone of his Caliber should be wielding- or should I say – be attempting to wield.

Good Ol’ Boy (men don’t dress like that- loose the frikin’ Belt Buckle Dude, it’s 2008 and there are Material Shortages! Butch ;-)(sorry I can’t help myself), well let’s just say that he Replaced Kempthorn (probably he was in the men’s Room at Gowen Field one day when “that life support system for a frikin’ oversized forehead)– oh well gotta run, the News is on- don’t wan’t to stay out of touch.
