When will our Politicians start addressing this very serious problem here in Idaho? It is way past time to start enforcing the laws and punish those that hire Illegal Aliens; even those that only want their lawns mowed...they are just as guilty as the large companies.

No free health care; no free education, no food stamps; no more low wages; for these criminals that ignore our immigration laws.

Let's get it right. They are not aliens. They are not from another world. Illegal imigrants, yes. Illegal aliens, no.

Low wages, yes. They work for low wages as they pick our fruits and vegetables. You eliminate them and who is going to do the picking? You going to hire whites to do the picking? You are going to have to pay them a lot more and then your cost of fruits and vegetable rises and those costs get past on to us. Besides, you couldn't hire white people to do that back breaking work in the hot sun.

I live in Los Angeles and can tell you the quality of life has gone down hill. Illegal immigrants have caused major problems i.e overcrowding of public schools, 16 emergency rooms shut down,(Cali has a state law where it is illegal to refuse care to illegals, but the state does not reimburse the hospitals, nor does the federal government) and the cost to incarcerate have all contributed to a declining of quality of life.

Companies who hire illegals should also be fined and or punished.

You better start lobbying your politicians, and lobby hard, otherwise you'll be stuck with the same problems as Southern California.

TO STEVE SAUCEDO...YOU NEED TO LOOK UP THE WORD ALIEN. THERE ARE MANY DEFINITIONS, INCLUDING "AN UNNATURALIZED RESIDENT OF A COUNTRY" AND "A MEMBER OF ANOTHER PEOPLE, REGION"...SO ILLEGAL ALIEN DOES APPLY.
AND I GUARANTEE THAT THE RISE IN FRUIT PRICES WOULD NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE AMOUNT IT TAKES TO CARE FOR THESE PEOPLE..WHO WORK IN THE US, SEND THEIR MONEY BACK TO THEIR FAMILIES AND DON'T PAY TAXES. HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK THAT COSTS!!!

Wah, wah; here we go again with this tired old whine.
Who's gonna pick our fruit? Who's gonna clean our toilets? Whose gonna watch our kids? Well, gee folks in the last century, we got along fine without an overabundance of illegals. so why the arguement now?

It's just an excuse to get away with getting one's illegal foot in the door.

You got that right! I suggest many here go to a site that immediately pops up when you type in work visas.
It's very enlightening. Many illegals seem to get the idea that they are here for good once they work here. WRONG. Employers should know that too.

Who picks our fruit, machines will in the very near future.. Go see what UC Davis is going. What will happen to all the illegal immigrants then?

Oh, yeah, they'll be collecting your social security benefits. And to who ever said someting in a previous post about how illegals get a pay check with taxes taken out...humm, yes under someone elses SSI number, not to mention they only work avg. four months a year on farms. That entitles them to SSI ?

I live on a farm that overlooks another and watch how they pee on your veggies because the trip to the commode is too many steps away. Complain? Why, I'd be racist then...

I'm from Calif., I can't believe you have the same problem with illegals as we do. This is shocking, basically we are talking about all of USA. I love diverity but those politicians must be paid off by owners of these companies that hire illegals. Does not the voter have a right to keep America, America?

Steve, there is more than one meaning for "alien", so technically, he is not wrong. Low wages? Hardly. The men working at the Swift plant were making $40,000...tax free!! That is more than I make. In addition, they are depleteing our welfare system, get free or reduced education, free housing, free medical care, free legal council, etc...all on our dime. Americans do not get treated that well. To make matters worse, these people are sending millions of dollars back to Mexico instead of reinvesting their dollars here. They don't want to assimilate and they have an allegiance to Mexico. Didn't you see them protesting in our streets last year? Burning the American flags and pledging their allegiance to Mexio and Laraza? Yelling "Aztlan", which means they want to take over the US. Hard to believe? Yes, but it is the truth, and it is scary. They should be protesting in the streets of Mexico, but they know they can scream racism and the ACLU comes running. Our law enforcement, Border Patrol and National Guard have a price on their head by the drug cartels in Mexico. Wouldn't you think that the government would do something about that? How about the kidnappings, decapitations and turf wars in Laredo Texas and Nuevo Laredo Mexico? Even our media doesn't report this most of the time. Why? Because they will lose income and they have all sold their souls for the almighty dollar. Start researching what I am telling you...it will give you the chills!! Did you ever see the cost of anything go down when they started using illegals. NO. This issue about costs going up are a scare tactic to keep illegal people in our country. If they left, we would save millions on the items that I already listed, not to mention prison and court costs. It is only a benefit to our government and big business, not to the avergae LEGAL US citizzen. Check your local paper...do you see a lot of Mexican names? I thought so.

The illegal imigrants, spits at our constitution, laughs while burning U.S.A flags, drives without a license , registration or insurance. Continue to be a hazard on the roadways, because they all like to hold a "Budwieser can" in one hand, and the other reaching for another cold can. Why would they worry, the MVD going to suspend their license?. THEY DON HAVE A USA LICENSE! SO THEY WILL GO ON THEIR MERRY WAY, DRIVING DRUNK, CAUSING ACCIDENTS, KILLING OUR LOVED ONES...AND THEY LAUGH, AND FLEE THE ACCIDENT SCENE.!! They waltz in our hospitals, demanding to be taken care of, giving the staff false names and documents....so they leave smiling..knowing they will never have to pay a cent. American citizens pay for what they have, and pay what they can , when they are in debt... you think the illegals care...? heck no !!

Every Illegal immigrant, ESPECIALLY MEXICANS...need to leave USA, for they hold their alliegence to Mexico...not the USA.

Main stream media ..is a joke..they have cowards as reporters, that only tell stories that degrade USA further.

I am against illegal immigrants in theory, and would be fine if everyone boycotted foreighn goods and labor. But we don't do we? Of course, I am against buying from China or Taiwanalso, which all of us are doing as well.
I would pay higher prices for goods if no foreign goods were allowed, but they are, aren't they? So, to the immigrant situation... In my experience, I have hired legal Hispanics to replace roofing and siding when wheather catastrophe hits midweat towns. There are so many roofs that need fixing before winter, that the locals cannot possibly handle the load. Guess what? The legals I hire must be hiring illegals to fill the void in labor. And Guess what else? No one is complaining about getting their roof fixed before winter comes. so go figure, its a conundrum isn't it?

The problem is that we already have laws in place to combat illegal immigration, but they are not being enforced. As a result, we are driving down our wages here because businesses need to compete to stay in business. I have heard many people say that the American public is to blame for this fiasco, but I think that if our politicians/law enforcement enforced the laws already in place, much of this problem would be eliminated. I won't purchase anything from Walmart,Home Depot, Miller etc...As time goes on, it is more and more difficult to boycott businesses, because our choices are being eliminated. Not to mention, a great deal of our population is ignorant on this topic, or actually have sympathy for these people, that break our laws. It is evident that after 9/11, our borders need to be secure, and as we have seen our politicians turn a blind eye to the problem. All of this so called security at our airports are a joke, as we have illegals boarding our planes and working at our airports. They have even been working on our military bases!

Even in resort areas, murder is rampant in Mexico. How long will it be before this is the norm for the US?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070417/ap_on_re_...

Police find 17 bodies across Mexico

MEXICO CITY - Police found 17 bodies stuffed in cars or dumped on streets in garbage bags across Mexico on Monday in the latest wave of violence apparently triggered by warring drug gangs.

In the resort city of Cancun, the bodies of three men and two women were found in an SUV with their heads covered in tape and their hands bound behind their backs, Quintana Roo state police said.

Police spokesman Antonio Coral said he could not immediately confirm the cause of death.

Mexico City police found more three bodies in an SUV parked in a middle-class neighborhood in what the Mexico City attorney general said appeared to be killings linked to a turf war between drug gangs.

Two more bodies were found in a car in Iguala, about 100 miles south of Mexico City. A note found at the scene threatened Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the alleged head of the Sinaloa Cartel who escaped from a federal prison in 2001.

Three burned bodies also were found in two cars in the Sinaloan city of Culiacan, while four more bodies were found in garbage bags in the central city of Taxco and the port city of Veracruz on the Gulf of Mexico.

Federal investigators say the Sinaloa cartel is fighting a bloody turf war with the Gulf Cartel and their army of enforcers known as the Zetas over billion-dollar drug trafficking routes to the United States. The battle has led to beheadings, grenade attacks and execution-style killings across Mexico and the violence has taken a particularly heavy toll on police.

Im with ya. People say that Illegals are here to do the jobs that we won't. What happens when their kids grow up and join whites in the work force? Then who going to pick the fruit and clean up after our dogs? We have 12 million of them in our country. So when they quit doing their current jobs are we going to let another 12 million in to do theirs? Draft them all and if they come home in one piece then they should get their citizenship.

Another annoying thing is that children born to illegals become citizens. Why? Murders don't get to make money from books they write about their crimes. This is because they aren't allowed to profit from their own crimes. Yet illegals get to claim residence because now they have a child to support that counts as a citizen. They just profited from their own crime! Children born to illegals should be considered illegal themselves. This is the case in many European countries.
Most of us have immigrants in our past. And most of them came into this country legally. Now some came in before there were any immigration laws, but still legally for that particular time. I'm not saying close the borders, just hold immigrants to the laws. If laws need to change, change them. If they need to be created or ended, do that. But don't let them come in freely.
I'd gladly have my tax dollars spent rounding them up and deporting them. Yes deporting. This means that if they come in again illegally they get put in prison. This means spending more tax dollars on prisons. OK by me. Just sending them back means there is no deterrent to them trying again.
I'm all for emergency health care for illegals. They get hit by a car, or something like that. I'm happy to pay for that because the doctors are under an oath to help people in need. But once they are ready to be released from the hospital.....deportation! When they come in for a cold or non emergency care, send the INS. If you really want to enforce this, don't allow hospitals claim any of the costs toward government pay backs. They only can treat illegals on their own dime. Watch how fast that stops.

I'm Mexican.

Thank all of you.

You have me laughing for 1/2 hour, thats a nice therapy.

You make a storm in a glass of water for 12 people killed in Mexico, obviously part of the drug cartel (that your country is the number one customer, and make it stronger every day) when bullets hit innocent people every day in united states.

We Mexicans, don't only pick up fruits, and clean
garages. You should go to Mexico City, take a look a UNAM University, check Santa Fe corp. area, Monterrey City, We have athletes like Lorena Ochoa as the best golfer, Filmmakers like inarritu and Del Toro, etc.

As fact here in Mexico we have everything we need, Raw Materials, Food, Fabric, Oil, etc.

Your economics are the one that doesn't let it go, you are the ones in need of cheaper work, raw materials, oil, water, etc. And they play you the trick that Mexico needs you. C'mon we are not Somalia or some dessertic area, we have everything here. If Mexico and United States divorce, at the end you are going to be the ones with a huge need.

I feel sorry for my people going there. The only reason they go there is for luxury, a luxury you invented. They only get circulating money to buy things they still could get here, but united states steal the raw materials with corruption, I'm a witness, process it there and re import it, or use franchises here, the inflates the prices so much, it's unafordable. This combined with a marketing process that almost hide the competition. The same mexican product so affordable and with the same quality.

So they are playing you a trick, and you are in the middle. I don't blame you, but you need to be objective and get to really know your neighboor, before getting an opinion.

I ve been there, in Texas in California, New York, Des Moines, New Orleans, I have true american friends with open eyes that have come here. We all with Master Degree, some of the americans with Economics, Administration, Etc. And we all see the same. They been here, deep Mexico. and i've been there, deep u.s.a.

So you should start coming to Mexico, and enjoy what it have to offer. We share. We share 2,000 years of history. We welcome you, as you should welcome us. we are part of the same planet that at the end, Chinese, American, Mexican or French, we are all predators.

You only have one life to live, 70 years or so, so enjoy it.

Sorry for my english, but i barely use it. I don't need it and i make 100.000 + in Mexico, not inherited.

Mexicans have no loyalty to their own country, or to their own families. Everything they WANT us to believe, is a LIE.

As for your "accomplished" citizens...never heard of them.

No need to "share", just stay put, and so will we.

Glad to hear that you are making $100.

What is that childish comment about loyalty, talk me with facts. Are you 13?

It's like i tell you, americans are dishonorable. But Beacause.....?????

I have a beautiful family, I'm loyal, and i know a lot of people who are, and of course, i know a lot of people who aren't: Mexicans, Americans, Indians, Australians, Italians.

About the accomplishments and the 100,000 it's not presumptious, it's informative, but i guess you are part of the ignorant part of united states, sorry you can't conceptualize, maybe it was too complex for you. Don't burn it you'll need it later.

And I don't need to share it. Someone already put all of us in this planet to share it and live in harmony, not to put barriers, and fight each other like you are used too. So I just welcome you again, Peace.

I am 12. Although I find you nescient, your lively banter is propitious in that I find the farcicality endearing.

Perhaps I am ignorant, but by your standards, you sir, are not one to judge.

This sentence does not make any sense. Please explain:

"but i guess you are part of the ignorant part of united states, sorry you can't conceptualize"
