Missing woman's van found in Ashland County

The van of a missing Taylor County woman has turned up on a logging road in a thickly wooded area of the Chequamegon National Forest in the Town of Chippewa in Ashland County. via The Daily Press

This needs to stay in the news and in peoples heads because she has not been found yet.
Need to bring Jean back home to her family and bring the people, yes, people, because more than one person was involved, to justice.
She has 4 children who don't understand that their mom is gone and not of her own choice. They need to know that she did not willingly leave them behind.
Duane Viken is her soon-to-be or is her ex-husband. He lives in Athens, Wisconsin. They had a business that is located in Dorchester Wisconsin that is called Viken Small Engine Repair.

How is it that her purse and keys to the van were on the table, yet the van was gone? Someone with a set of keys had to be involved. We as a community need to come together and help find her for the kids sake. There are too many loose strings in this case to give up. Any help needed, I am willing!!!

Yes another person is missing and she should be found for the family. But we have to remember about a two years ago a guy who was missing for a year was found dead in whittlesey and the Taylor County law enforcement hasn't done anything or brought any one to justice for that. It has been kept quite why don't they tell the public what is going on. People should also wonder why there are other unsolved cases in Taylor County. What are the cops doing. Yea they tell you not to speak but that way they don't have to do anything and still look good.

Who was missing and their death wasn't solved? I do know that the newspapers, radio and TV don't keep the pressure on and publicize so much if there is "nothing really new" to report. That is why we keep writing in and there is one lady who is writing a vox pop and some papers didn't publish it. If you are interested in helping write a letter to the paper and keep it in the news. We need to keep her face out there and maybe, just maybe who did it will crack or talk and the right person will report the lead to the cops. It is all about the community helping. If someone who knows something doesn't come forward, then how can the cops solve it if there isn't enough evidence?? Help by keeping this in the news and in front of the people who did this crime.

I was informed that The day she was reported missing, was the same day the "Bare Trap" caught fire. The owner was suppose to be good friends with Duane. The owner also for the first time shut his cell phone off, and told the insurance company not to investigate. Within 2-3 days the rubble was removed. Too much going on here and not enough action.

I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren and I hope that someone comes forward, I have a hard time sleeping at nite, ever nice I have heard this, I

I heard the same thing from one of her neighbors. I also heard that Duane's girlfriend was working at the Bare Trap. Why didn't the investigators look into why the backhoe was there the next morning and why was Duane at the scene of the fire with his soon to be ex-wife was missing. Who was taking care of the kids? How tramatic for the kids. There are many questions that needs to be answered. Also, where is all the debris from the bar? Could Jean be in it?

They need to inform the public of what is going on here. No one knows anything or any updates. I also heard about the bare trap thing too. Where are the cops when something like this happens. They are out trying to pull people over for speeding and not taking care of the real problems.

Why didn't the cops get a plane in the air and look for her or her van. Most agencies do this. Why did the Sheriff say on the news this is a small quiet county and nothing happens here. Did he forget the person that went missing two years ago and they never solved that. What about all other unsolved murders here. How many are there? What are the cops and DA Karl Kelz doing besides collecting a big pay check and smoozing the public with smoke and mirrors. I feel sorry for the familes of these missing people. What about the woman who is saying she was mugged in Medford and the cops and kelz twisted things and charged her with crimes. Who beat her up? They can't solve that either or what about the guy who was charged by the DA and the sheriff when he was blowing the whistle on the sheriff's dept and helping people take their complaints to the county board. He was charged all to be dismissed. How crooked and lazy is our justice system here? Taylor County justice system wants to keep the people down and quiet and if you don't keep quiet they make up charges on you for speaking out.
