I've not told any of the others in my family or friends that she's been missing. Do'nt know what or how to tell them I don't know where my daughter is.

Scout, that's a helluva burden to be carrying by yourself. I don't know how strong your family is and if it is capable of absorbing such a shock. But if you feel that it can, then by sharing the truth as you know it will lighten your load.

In a situation like this there are limits to how much anyone can take. If I was in your position I would be extremely shocked, and probably do what you are doing, and that is to keep it to myself. But that does weaken the body, unless you can convert that internal tension to positive action. Sharing that load is often the best way of summoning extra energy and extra help.

It's a family problem, and that should be your first port of call. People like us underestimate the energy that comes from within a group. I hope that will help you, because by getting stronger you are more able to think straight and act straight, and act positively in bringing her back.

Another way of thinking may be to calm your mind, and hope that she can pick up your positive thoughts and come back to them as a homing signal. Whether that works or not, a calmed and peaceful mind will be useful for when she does come back. You obviously have one or two things to fix between you.

Anyways, we're with you and willing you on. It's not much but if you can draw on it then it's all for the good.

They say there's a first time for everything. When my mom died, I tried to give a Eulogy for her. My trembling body denied me such, and while I tried, I did share some of what I felt in those few seconds and my words--as another finished them.

With my daughter, this is different and probably because like you say, things between us. I feel guilty I did not do enough and I should have been a much better dad, that I am embarrassed to go to my family.

Sometimes I watch tv and something makes me start laughing only to hear my laugh turn in the opposite direction.

I can only say thank you for your thoughts, as they help. I can only believe the best for you and yours.

Don't let embarrassment stop you doing what you feel is right. Also remember that everyone is in the same boat as you are. Me, the suckers that write in here, your family, my family ... as the old saying goes, let the one who is totally innocent, cast the first stone. When put in that situation, everyone must accept their share of the collective responsibility.

We're with you Jim, we understand you and we're there all the way until your kid comes back to where she belongs. And when that happens, part of our collective weight will also be lifted.

Mohamed...excellent post. I have found this website to be an awesome resource too. What is amazing too is that when you look at the data invloving these innocent children (yes...INNOCENT) you will see that most of them were shot in the head by Israeli soldiers. So when people defend Israeli Jews by saying they don't participate in suicide bombings...I argue...they don't have to...they have a government who does it for them...and it gets away with it on the world stage.
