Hi I need to find a good female doctor in Athens. Does anyone have any recommendations? Area of town not really that important to me. Just want someone who I will feel comfortable talking to and who others have had good experiences with.

Thanks!

Dr. Anderson is a very nice doctor, and very good at what she does. She's located on King Ave in Athens.

I'd suggest you don't go to Dr. Gibson. I never ever get to see the actual doctor there.

I'm still looking myself! Cross Dr.Fleagle off of your list - Hawthorne Medical Associates is the practice, and I feel like I'm on an assembly line when I visit. She's nice enough, just not as thorough as I'd like and it lacks personal attention. I think it's due to a HUGE elderly clientele.
However - as far as OBGYN's go... Dr. Stephanie Allen is wonderful.
Good luck!

My problem is erectile malfunction, not dysfunction. The darn thing keeps me awake at night....can't sleep on stomach or turn over. Need nice, blond, blue-eyed, voluptuous, well-built, twenty-something who specializes in these types of problems. Recommendations welcome.

I had the pleasure of knowing both Eloise and Ward in Athens. Ward smoked a pipe almost constantly; and Eloise sold realestate as I recall. Never got to know much about their family life....Ward traveled out of town a whole bunch. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Many of Ward's co-workers have passed as well.

You are right about both! May I ask how you knew them and how it is that you were asking about them after all these years? Pop died in 1990 and Mom in 1995.

I saw the name, Atherton, on here and immediately thought of your parents. Ward and I were involved in similar activites in Athens, but please don't divulge the nature of those activities on here...please. Both were senior to me. FWIW, I had a high regard for both Ward and Eloise. Last I heard your Dad was in DC.

Yes, he went to DC to work after the divorce, then NC with my brother, then FL and married a wonderful woman about 2 years before he died. He was an instant grandfather and LOVED it!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear he got out of DC, although he may have liked it. It was hostile territory for me; couldn't wait to get the hell out of Dodge as the saying goes. I have lost contact with nearly all of the old group...many of whom have passed away. Athens represents some of the "good ole days" for me....far simpler times and fond memories. I swore I would return to Athens one day and live there in retirement, but got locked down out here. Its good to get an update. May you have health, happiness and future success.

God bless you too! May you know Jesus as my mother and father did, in the end, as their Savior. They are in Heaven and that brings me much peace!!

Blessings!

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Leah Lowman
She's at:
740 Prince Avenue
Athens, GA 30606

I met her in the midst of a medical emergency (an ectopic pregnancy that resulted in a ruptured uterus). She really takes time to connect with her patients and listens to them. After my rupture, she recommended that I did not have any more children, but was VERY supportive when I said I wanted a second opinion.
Best of luck!

Classic City OB/GYN is an office with all female doctors. My daughter and I both see Stephanie the Nurse Practitioner in the office. I just started going this year and it was the most comfortable GY visit I've ever had. The office is located at 740 Prince Ave.
